There are two meet ups at the Christmas Market this year.
1. Thursday evening from 6:00 onwards meet at the top of the hill at the widow cullen well?
2. Saturday evening from 6:00 onwards meet at the top of the hill at the widow cullen well?
Hope all can still come this week. We have been into the City today and the signs are going up.
See you on Thursday.

THIS Thursday and Saturday i.e. the 1st and 3rd of December
Saturday does clash with the projected meet at the Sheffield Christmas Market (Kelham Island) though Peter.

I will probably do Saturday, the Kelham Island market is asking £5.00 entry, very expensive for what it is.

Mmm didn't know that. I'll have words with the Mehmsahib. It is a while since I have been to the Kelham Island market but that is due to the fact that last time I went I was quite disappointed. We may return to Lincoln on Saturday too.

Yes, there have been letters of complaint in The Star over such a high entrance fee, which I believe is the normal fee for the Museum (children free). I had considered going but the Market 2 years ago wasn't especially impressive, and I intended to do Lincoln last year only for it to be a little too Christmassey, and I definitely cannot do Thursday.
I wasn't actually aware there was a meet-up at Kelham Island, I have seen nothing on the forum.

It sounds fun, but too far for us to go I'm afraid! We did have fun at the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland last week though - and the entry is free! (Even if everything else is quite pricey...)

A really fab afternoon and Evening with a good number of steamy folk.
The market was heaving with 1,000's of people. But on the whole well organised by the council. Some nice stalls and a fair amount of tat, but food and drink stalls aplenty.
We got to the first meet up at W.C.W. at 6 and then agreed a later meet up at 9pm at the Lion & Snake. Which was a good idea.
High spots, Sloe Gin tasting, Cheese tasting and going on the Big Wheel.
Nice to see some new folk, and old friends.

Horrendous! The trains have been very badly oversold, 2 or three times over. The only way to guarantee getting home was to queue up for nearly 2 hours to get on the 18.24, so I miss the meet up.
What is especially galling, the train operator is a sponsor of the market. They will pay for the craft marquee's but not to put on extra trains when they know they have oversold the existing capacity.

Sorry you missed the met up Peter. We had an other fine day and evening at the market . A huge thanks to Scott for organising and to Dene for being splendid. (and I will return your scarf).
Nice to see so many Steampunks in Lincoln again, the locals certainly know who and what we are.
See some of you next week at the Lion and Snake for dinner and then a few drinks as it Steampunk Saturday.

I am sorry to have missed the meet up, market was good but very busy. Too many stalls selling the same goods though, too many markets are starting to stock exactly the same stuff, and I expect I will see the same at the Sheffield Christmas market.
For some reason the Sheffield trains were very bad, there were people in the queue who couldn't get on the 18.24, or the next train at 19.44, but might have got on the 20.48 after queuing for 3 hours. I'm just glad the weather held off, and my bladder retained its integrity(they closed the toilets). It makes closing the lifts on the Asylum weekend positively genius in comparison.
Clearly the train operators are intent on doing Lincoln down.
