Our CNC class went on a tour today of a local company that builds casting machines for aluminum. We got to see a lot of big machining equipment (makes our shop machine look tiny) including several mills the size of small apartments that were in operation.

That might be great news! Fingers crossed for you Lady A! More fencing on the olympics today makes me happy! Really have to find a good fencing school to join around here. Used to love it!

Silver lining to a Gah: my electric razor broke yesterday. Hence I'm looking a little... Rasputin-esque, if I exaggerate. The silver lining of course is that it provided an excuse opportunity to buy a vintage-reproduction safety razor handle... I would have gone for a cutthroat, but with me... it would have lived up to its name....

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Just cleaned out the bag I use for work, found some end-of-year cards from the kids I taught. In one of them I found a £10 card for Waterstones (a book store chain for those not in the UK), bonus!
Things are coming together for a little project I want to do for The Asylum as well.
Following on from the twin theme, a mate of mine thought he lived next to a werewolf as a kid. One day this guy would be clean-shaven with short hair, the next he'd have a full beard and long hair. He'd always be polite to my mate, say hello using his name, have a chat, etc. This went on for some time, until he went to a family BBQ, and the two men were stood side by side. Big penny drop moment.

I replaced my electric razor with an old style safety razor a few years ago, and would never go back. I hope you enjoy.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Well ... it a drag that YOU had to move to solve someone else' drama. My son is still going through a similar experience with the mother of his boys (this chick is bat shit crazy in the same delusional way as your former housemate ... even the 'experience' thing sounds similar). Hopefully, you and yours can get on with your life in a less restrictive and drama filled manner. Good Tidings to ya.

Finished work early, which was good enough, then got a ring on my mobile, some woman couldnt turn off a tap and was some-what distraught. Popped in on way home to a dear little old lady all flustered and in a panic. 5 minutes later problem sorted. The thing that made me happy was her face when I said free of charge (how could I possibly charge for 5 minutes work and a penny washer!) and the big smile on her face...... then an even bigger hug. Im sure some other ficker would have dragged it out and charged the poor woman at least £50 ~SeVeN~

Yesterday, but only posting now (didn't get back in till late). Spent the day with a mate at the cigar lounge (got three decent cigars, smoked two and kept one for the stockpile at home), talking to the regulars and then going for a few pints with them and the staff afterwards. Spent the rest of the evening with my mate and one of the the other regulars - a bloke from Kazakhstan. Yeah, if you have a mental image of Borat right now, your not actually too far off... It was a little surreal at times. Good bloke actually, very intelligent and very qualified (has more letters and acronyms after his name than I care to mention). Spent about 20 minutes trying to get the exact pronunciation of his name right, not a difficult name, but hard to get it right (has a short 'b' in it). A good night, if a little expensive... SS

Then, it that case, my plan to prove that decent human beings can and do actually exist in this money grabbing, F*&^% you society we live in, could be working. Im glad my little story restored your faith in mankind, even just a small bit. I have so many more but.......... ~SeVeN~

I bought this: All being well, I now have a black frockcoat which fits, bringing my tally of long coats/ tailcoats up to six: - Morning Tails (Modern) - Evening Tails (1930s Vintage) - Edwardian Vintage Frockcoat (black and about five times too big for me....) - Blue Frockcoat (Modern, had it altered so the buttons actually button) - 'Resurrection' Coat (Modern, like a frockcoat but has only one button) - Black Frockcoat (Just bought, Modern, plan tpo have it altered like my blue one). Great. Now I just need to find a red spotted hunting tie/ cravat and a black waistcoat with white trim....

Had a great day yesterday, I was off today, went to my nephew's birthday party and had a wonderful time, I'm off tomorrow and we are having a birthday cookout for my birthday, then on Monday for my actual birthday, I work a shift that leaves me with no responsibility to get things done but leaves others Scott free to fool around like usual, and the great manager said he thinks he is the late manager that night!!

Nice thunderstorm this morning...now a cozy cup of coffee and cinnamon roll. Hopefully lounging around this morning will be the highest priority once our house guests depart. All in all it was a lovely visit; had a good time with my nieces and there were no major meltdowns. I am exhausted though!
