as far from the bloody Olympics as possible!!

A friend of mine has what I suspect to be the right idea and chose to emigrate rather than sit through the whole shoddy, corporate-infested, overbudget underwhelming spectacle...  Cheesy

I think emigrating is a little extreme! Grin

And a bit pointless as it's an international event being beamed onto every television in the world. Unless, of course, you can find somewhere away from a goggle box Smiley

I understand that some folk are actually looking forward to this event but for those who are not for the next few weeks you should...

I don't do sport.  I have no interest in sport.  Except for, maybe, anything involving boats, horse racing or orienteering/mountaineering.  So Ascot, Cowes Week and our little trip up Snowdon a few years ago are fine.  But yes, for anything else- I don't do sport.

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

I hope all of you in the ... impact zone ... don't get too impeded.  When the Olys were in LA, we avoided the place like the origin of the plague.

Same w/ me on sports ...
GT or F1 racing (viewing from the couch naturally)
Target Shooting
Bike Wandering (like on old railroad beds ... pretty and no hills)
Ski Cruising (like skiing, but slower, and with a flask)

I might record bits and pieces here and there for something different - in that in an hour of programming, there might be 5 minutes or so of something interesting.

"MY Way" is in the workshop.
The old frames were beyond repair.
Now all the stuff is waiting to be disassembled, refurbished and transferred into the new frames.

Hope to have her operational again until September.

We just picked our first tomatoes!   From a variety known as Violet Jasper ... they are actually red with green stripes.  We've got 12 plant - 11 different types.  This year I added 10 yards of nice organic cow poo and a custom mix of organic additives.  Two of the plants have reached just over 5 foot tall!  I must say that the gardens are doing quite well ... and wandering about in the evening with a nice ale brings me needed joy.   Some day I'll build a water powered clock to automatically water the gardens.  Ahhhh ... mad gardener dreams.

And ... after the recent trip to settle Mom into a care facility, and the rescue of all or our family heirlooms, Miss Bird and I spent the previous days scattering various items about the house.  Some of the stuff is quite old (pre-1900).  It was a bit like going into an antique store and being told to pick out 50 of anything.  Got to use the old block and tackle to raise some furniture to the loft (it's a antique cast iron double-double pulley set connected to the ridge beam ... 8:1 ratio ... 200 feet of rope for 25 feet of rise)
Cool ... but a bit bittersweet.

Well, yesterday I had a massive shopping trip.  Today, I went to the lavender farm.  They have peacocks, chickens, a pet bull named Norman, and a lot of ducks.  There were massive amounts of feathers all over the place, and I was able to get quite a few that were in good shape!  So, I can now decorate my derby from yesterday's shopping trip Smiley  I also coffee'd a pair of pants.  The outifits are moving along now Cheesy

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

We have too many cats, but they are all adorable! Boots is the only little boy that is mine and my husband's, the other two we have had over the years are both in Kitty heaven. Boots looks nearly exactly like Tigger, the cats that was mine before I met my husband. Tigger was a part Maine coon cat, and was soo fluffy and beautiful!

Edit : lil I get what you were referencing now! I'm still waking up for work!

AC Moore now has an official "Steampunk" line in their jewelry. Admittedly some of it does have potential for accents, but the bulk of it is junk. Midway through ranting to my friend about commercialized steampunk I saw something.....it was a loupe....that actually magnifies!  I could not believe it....we both ended up buying one.

Done the shopping for my ma n pa, mowed their lawn and various other necessary tasks whilst they are housebound, home by 12.

I decided, as a lager drinker, (sorry) to try and educate myself a little and purchased a bottle of PIMMS No1........... I love it!! (although I think it is gin based, and I hate the taste of gin).

Its Pimms o clock from now on, me thinks Wink. Will have to google for mixers and if it can be used in cooking.

As an aside my brother said that tonic water can aid the suffering of severe muscle cramps (quinine content) so will give that a go.

I have many of the Bob Ross shows and VCR and DVD.  I listen to him frequently.  When I am trying to be extra creative, I put Bob on for inspiration.  On the other side, when I need to meditate I put him on.   Several years ago I tried my hand at painting using his tapes as instruction.  They actually came out ok.

I would like to get my hands on some of his shows. When my current bout of Uni is over, it's back to the paints for me!
