So there Lady Adler....hopefully that is a helpful motivational story. (Just please don't get attacked by a hobo just to see if something happens)
That is a very sweet story, it made me smile! And don't worry, I'm complete rubbish at this entire 'damsel in distress' thing; I'd probably beat up the Hobo... It's been a very long time in fact, that I was interested in someone. It feels a bit weird, a bit wonderful and slightly scary. If I think about it, I could probably find a dozen reasons against it - so I've decided, not to think too much and just see where that takes me. Most likely it won't take me anywhere at all (as I said, the young man is only vaguely aware that I exist), but then again, who knows?

I don't know that happy is the best word for the feeling, but the fact that the universe came together through many people and made this: http://www.zefrank.com/chillout/Happen, sets a certain amount of peace within me.

My fiance knows some Krav Maga so her and I occasionally spar....she could have taken that hobo. She played the damsel in distress pretty well. Although we were at a nonviolent thing so it was probably for the best that she didn't use it. I was vaguely aware she existed until she started talking to me.

Well it's payday! And I purchased these fine Antique Civil War Sharpshooter Pince Nez Glasses to add to my main costume which I am finally beginning to add Weird West elements too. Soon I will be getting a replica sixshooter and gunslinger pistol belt for the full effect.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

This weekend I have seen eleven red kites, two buzzards, countless kestrels, two partridges, a marsh harrier, numerous steam locomotives, England winning a test match (on tele) and the Arsenal beating City (ditto). Yorkshire's poor performance at Headingley is the only dampener on an otherwise fantastic weekend so far.

What makes me happiest right now?
Well, first off, Maranatha! Hallejuah! He is risen!
That said, my daughter's birthday party was yesterday, and she was, as always the center of attention. My wife is the most patient, beautiful person I know. For us, the Honeymoon never ended. A friend of ours from California sent me a selection of gourmet teas! I have a new order for my artwork to sell. I'm over my stomach virus.
Life is good.

He is risen indeed! Those are some wonderful blessings, Dr. Madd. I'm feeling happy for reasons I can't even really describe. I guess the best way to say it is that I'm finally dealing with some unhealthy emotions and coming to accept and move past some others. That's vague, I know, but the end result is that I'm happier than I've been in a while.

Met my younger brothers new girlfriend at the family easter dinner. She has a much better head on her shoulders than the last one, my daughters already love her, and to top it off, she's at least heard of steampunk.

We had a great day at a friend's house, we had an early dinner, then went and hung around the lake near his house, the kids went swimming, and then got to go on a boat ride...

It's my birthday and while I'm somewhat cynical about my birthdays in general (why should I celebrate being alive for another 12 months, it's not much of an achievement, can't we save the party until I get my master's degree etc etc, countered by plenty of enthusiasm for everyone else's birthday's, especially giving presents) I am going to enjoy today anyway.
Very shortly my mum will arrive to insist I open a small mountain of presents; she never listens when I tell her NOT TO BUY ME THINGS. I think that in the end it makes her happy. Especially buying me clothes she loves but wouldn't suit her etc (which is why my wardrobe contains amazing clothes; she's like a personal stylist!) The presents from mum will be balanced by my dad's lack of present buying ability =P
Then my dad with make me a nut roast to take to the Easter lunch my brother's mum is having and I will get to see lots of family including my nana and my 4 year old nephew (who might even be persuaded to give his Auntie Josie a birthday hug).
Then I'll see my grandparents on my mum's side later for drinks.
All in all it should be lovely and I'm very grateful to have such a wonderful, colourful, uncoventional, loving family around me.
Here's hoping year number 22 goes a bit more smoothly than the last one....

Many Happy Returns, Ms. Pheonix! (I can't promise that solar orbit 22 will go better than 21; merely faster ) My own source of happiness today is that despite the best efforts of the weather myself, Esme Moore and Steamblast Mary still managed to have a good time at the Malvern flea market. I came home with a new walking cane and a pair of plaster cast ionic-order column candlesticks, which I'm going to use as book ends. Also, managed to get three classical CDs at HMV in Birmingham on the way back.

The book I had on hold was at the library today, much to my surprise, because I was 24th in line for it...the baking pan I needed was at Walmart today- square cupcakes for Ferris's minecraft themed birthday party...now I don't have to find it online... All of these things made me happy!

When I am angry with my five year old son who has discovered that the most logical thing to do in his "soon to be short life" is to take his index finger, reach up (when possible such as when I'm sitting) and "push" my eyebrows back up into the "happy" position. Not only does he have courage but I'll be damned if it doesn't work on making my day a little brighter!

Easter is finally over. Don't get me wrong, I like chocolate eggs but I think I had enough for another year. What also made me happy is that our 2 1/2 year old has more discipline than her 9 year old cousin. We learned our daughter to look both ways before crossing. So did my wife's sister to her 9 year old. She has to be reminded of it, our daughter does it all the time. Our daughter knows, no means no. Cousin knows, no means maybe means yes. Also, last weekend they were looking for easter eggs at grandparents. Both where told to put the eggs in the basket and NOT eat them until we tell them to. Our daughter, who loves chocolate, managed with great efford, not to eat any. Cousin understood the quest, but didn't listen and ate at least two (under the eyes of her parents, who just said: you're not supposed to do that. No further correctioning or disciplining). At dinner, after the egg search, the cousin managed to eat all her share of chocolate eggs (about 7 of different sizes). She had to eat them fast and sneaky, so her parents wouldn't see. What happens when a 9 year old eat to much chocolate? It comes out. I know that there's a big difference bitween a 2 1/2 and a 9 year old and not everyone teaches their kids how to behave and listen to their parents. Therefore on rare occasions, when Karma shows up, I snicker. At this event, I LOL-ed, what was not appreciated by cousin and her mother. Ah well, she should've listened and mother should've been more strickt. (Frankly, if it was my kid I would probably laugh even louder, with the ever populair:"I told you so!")

I held a tea party yesterday; complete with fine china, equally fine conversation, lots of dainty edibles and ladies in hats. Anyone arriving without a hat was offered a choice from my larger-than-I-realized collection. No steampunks present just friends from church but they all enjoyed hatting it up. I even found the perfect hat for an "I wish I could wear hats but they never suit me" friend.

It is kind of funny....I love doing investigations and mentioned a few months ago in GAH, I've had to do one seriously. Well apparently I did a really good job and now have to continue where I left off because the people of authority are unable due to technicalities to carry on, but need me to continue what I have been doing. So somehow in hopefully starting work at the museum this week and getting another job interview, I need to play consulting detective.
