One week from now, I'll arrive in London. That is a happy thought. Also: Bread rolls with Nutella for breakfast.

If a few local guys put their money where their mouth is, we might have an indoor model flying club going by Christmas! I suspect it'll be mostly little bittie helicopters, but I want to take up 'Peanut' scale model aircraft again, (about 13" wingspan) an interest from my youth- My Word, forty years since I first started making flying model aircraft.
The stumbling block has been finding a hall big enough and cheap enough. A mate has found such- the owners will let us use it for £5 an hour which seems quite reasonable to me.

Ah school so much fun, I luckily got to scream at my biology class for five minutes about how other people are trying to do work and if they would shut up. Very fun, especially considering they haven't said a word in two days.

Picked up a really nice pair of 'vintage' formal dress trousers. You know, with the satin strip down the seam. £20.
Now I just need a nice vintage tux...

Just found out I'm getting a somewhat boutique $120 guitar pedal for $75. My old guitar teacher is selling it and offered me a special deal. Sweet! For any of you gear junkies out there, its an Xotic EP Booster. Be jealous!

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

I am so happy right now. A programing issue that has been giving me the runaround for days has finally cleared up. Somehow I managed to make captain Hudson invisible and that got me stuck in a loop. I admit I did a little happy dance when i ran the play testing and saw it working. It puts me one step closer to the demo.

It made me happy on saturday and I only got home last night: Seraphina Sprocket-Twitcher of Steampunk Kernow organised a Steamy weekend, with a mobile feast on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and BBBlackDog playing at the Bird in Hand in Hayle later that evening. Splendid!

Now I just need a nice vintage tux... Further to my earlier email (above) I have today ordered from a British based company, 'Rokit' vintage clothing, a rather splendid used/ex rental tux. Pointed satin lapels, single button, three pockets, silk lining condition listed as 'very good'. It was £35 but was marked down to £15 with £5 P&P. They have quite a nice selection of dinner jackets and tuxedos if anyone is after one (what with the party season coming up) you could do a lot worse.. Admittedly it's not particularly steamy but there are occasions when I want/need to be smartly dressed and 'going steampunk' is not an option.

I had a rather disappointing day yesterday at the Frost Fair in Newton Aycliffe, but purely because of sales - the place was a little out of the way and such On the positive side I had great feedback, got a few orders for muffs and met some lovely people the best thing about the day was talking to an older couple, the lady bought one of my necklaces and the gentleman said: "that's a new word isn't it? 'Steampunk', what does it mean?" I explained, he smiled slightly and said: "I think I've always liked that, I just didn't know it had a name" it made me very happy

Ok, so, in the GAAAAAAAAAAAAAH thread, I'm sure you all saw my post about people trolling all over my cover of "1234." That is my response to the haters. That made me happy. Aye, it didna go over so very well, but that's fine-I didna expect it to. But it has nearly 400 views as of this posting. So, they may not LIKE it, but my voice is getting heard!

I have been spending quite a lot of time online trying to catch up with developments in model aircraft.....I come from a time when model aircraft powered by a few strands of rubber were the norm, or you might have a diesel, or even an engine that needed a dry battery to power it's spark plug. There was no adequate equivalent in model terms to the jet engine. When I was a kid, radio control gear was so bulky, the transmitter had to stand on the floor.
Now I find you can buy a three and a half inch wingspan radio controlled Spitfire. Or a multi engine transport plane, just a foot across.
Or a helicopter you can easily put in a breast pocket. Such fun! But you can still buy the bits to make rubber powered model aircraft, including very traditional Japanese ones made partly from bamboo.....so ones pays ones money and etc. My problem is, a friend has found a small hall for a group of us to fly indoors in Winter, but it's not big enough to fly anything remotely big or fast....even a 13" scale model would be too fast to fly in there I'm thinking. So my choice is coming down to one of the small helicopters, when my first preference had been to make something more traditional. But there is such a choice of flying stuff these days! I'm quite agog.
