Reading makes me happy today! Although I did finish the book, but it was a happy time while it lasted:)s

I was reading like insane yesterday. Finished the first book out of a trilogy I`m reading, even though when I started yesterday I was at roughly 1/3rd of the book. And then I started on the second book right afterwards.

I had somehow forgotten how happy reading makes me =)

Yeah, I went a whole week without reading in June. If it hadn't been for all the people I talked to that week I would have gone crazy. Needless to say, rarely go with out a book now:)

Oh no! Thankfully, my neighborhood was lucky enough to maintain power throughout this whole storm adventure. Glad to hear you've got it back!

Happy thing for today: new facial hair design coming in wonderfully. I always love a good change of facial hair.  Smiley

The big rainstorms missed my area again, this time passing to the north.

Sigh. Time to recalibrate and try again...

Thought I was going to have to work on the 4th of July (tomorrow) but got the day off without even asking for it!  Smiley

The 4th of July is sort of like a family reunion so I am really happy to spend sometime with family members that I have not seen in awhile.

Finally got my ass to the SD Auto Museum for the steam-punk show, it was great fun.  Then when to time travelers clockworks - not as fun.

Modifying my necklace display for the Midsummer Night's Steam event this weekend.. It made me happy that it was less complicated than I thought it was.. Also the fact that we got some rain this evening- our swamp was looking a little low..

I had my graduation ceremony today! I am now officially graduated cum laude, and have the title of Bachelor International Communication. The weather is also really bright and sunny, which was just perfect, as the ceremony was at a castle near the city.

I nipped out into the garden between showers and picked my first of the raspberry crop of the year.  Yum, yum.  I'm just about to have a bowl-full.

According to forecasts, this ridiculous heat will be coming to an end by Saturday. Temps will be back to their normal 80s again. Still haven't gotten any rain here though. Hope the fireworks tonight don't set fire to anything important.

the 4th is a family reunion time for me to. Sad to say some are off fighting fires in CO area, and the actual reunion was moved to sat the 7th. (don't know why the 4th IS a holiday after all.) But fireworks tonight will make me very happy. (Things making a lot of noise and blowing up usually have that effect on me Grin

I intended to spend the majority of the day working on my steampunk children's story, but have instead spent the day admiring the many kilted men of BG...time well spent, I say.  Wink Grin

1. It finally rained last night. Granted it came with an unbelievable wind that blew over trash cans, set off car alarms, and knocked out power for the entire shopping center where I work, but it rained. (note to self- Aim is dead on, now dial up the duration, and turn the intensity waaaaaay down!)

2. The aforementioned power outage only effected where I work; everything's fine at home, though there a couple of blasted apart maples on my street.

3. The lightning show that came with the storm made the man-made fireworks earlier in the evening look downright trivial.

4. I got home to find I'd won an auction for slipcased leatherbound editions of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The winning bid was about half of what they'd have cost at retail. Grin

Granted, it was a royal pain in the rump trying to do my job by flashlight, but the good definitely outweighed the bad. The only thing keeping it from being a perfect evening was not having the night off.
