Just received a phone call from a friend. My Super Claud has been in his workshop for some time. Most tasks are finished. This means:
I will have a (though not completely finished) 5" gauge Super Claud under my christmas tree!!!
I´ll put about 2 metres of track under the tree to accomodate the loco.

How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

A quiet afternoon keeping a chair warm at a remote office gave me time to write almost 4 pages worth of material for the story/novel I'm working on. Not sure if that's fast or slow in the grand scheme of things, but it's a good day for me. It's one of the longest stretches of uninterrupted writing I've done in a long time.

What makes me happy right now is to be home after a cross country flight...I've decided that I'm not fond of flying nowadays.....but I had a good visit with my dad so it was worth it.

An idea has made me happy today.
I've been up all night so I can make sure to wake up my fiance in time. She will be away most of the day. Originally this was a GAH due to some recent events involving her crazy ex-boyfriend. Then the idea suddenly occurred to me. She has been wanting me to "steampunk" her. She understands what steampunk is about, but needless to say she likes the fashion more than any other aspect. (give her a break, she is a geek....but my dandy ways have caused her to become very fashion-conscious) So my plan: once she leaves I shall sneak down to the thrift store to get some base items of clothing, come home, get some sleep, and in the hours I have left to spare....start on an epic Christmas present. She is afraid of the attic, so that shall be my hiding place, and hopefully she won't look over my shoulder should I check back here or start a WIP thread.

I just gave the last of my london souvenirs to one of my friends. She was so happy with that small, simple thing (a handwarmer with union jack print), that it made me happy to see her so happy. My other friends were also really happy with the presents I got them, which makes me happy in return.
Now I just have to hope my family will show the same appreciation :p
There's also a patch of blue sky amidst the rain clouds right now, right at the moment my music player put on a really positive "don't worry because you'll be fine" type of song, which also makes me happy.

Goodie's Powder. I got really lucky-apparently, my NSAID allergy does not extend to Naproxin (a major ingrediant in Goodie's Powder)-either that, or snorting the meds gives a different, faster acting effect.
Point is, I've had a massive headache the past three days-snort a Goodie's, and it's gone.
...
You ARE supposed to snort it, right? I mean, why ELSE would it look like C-C-C-COCAINE!!!

Friend of mine had a break-in some time ago...
wait...wait...I'll get to the happy/ of sorts
his PC, all the cables and then such were stolen..
he just got a new laptop! OH,MY!!
*grin*
You may ask why I grin?? here's why:
Today he got Charter cable and wifi installed... he: when this box is up, how far can I go with the laptop, cause I only have the cable that is 8f??
...
he: oh, the TV is still searching and I had the converter remote, do I need to call charter to hook up my universal remote?
granted, he is 67 and not a dummy, but tech support has a handfull with him... the crowning moment, while the charter guy was there:
charter; You got your PC? he: no, I got my laptop right here.. *pulls up a nylon carrier case*
*fiddles around with a key*
me: J, is this a lock?
he: yes, the carrier case has those pull straps with holes, so You can pull a lock through.
me: You put a lock through pullstraps for a synthetic carrier, that can be cut with a knife/blade?
??
All 3 of us had a really good laugh after that..
did I mention he was not too tech savy? and I will get a ton of calls after today, besides the frantic call I already got yesterday.. and I know NOTTING about the "real" tech stuff, really...
what makes me happy, You may wonder??
I got permission to use his connection to finally get all my pics uploaded and put up into my bucket account, so I can finally post some here..
*happy dance*

Slightly less than jack-all work to do last night and it looks to be the same tonight... and tomorrow night and Friday. If the company wants to pay me for doing very little work, more fool them I guess. Also I find out this week if I get a new contract for the New Year- considering how it's gone practically since I first started I'm hoping I get shown the door...

I got a rejection email from IKEA!
Rejection isn't something I'd normally get happy about, but given that out of the (feels like) hundreds of jobs I've applied for over the past few months this is the first actual follow up reply I've had, I feel that it's something I can smile about!

I've just seen the Hobbit trailer. If ever there were a film destined to smash various records for opening nights; that is it. It does look quite good (but then why shouldn't it?)! ~Longeye~

That trailer made me very happy as well. I had chills when the dwarves started singing. I cannot wait for the film to come out! Only a year away!

My fiance got done with therapy and called me....apparently she was misdiagnosed. She was basically diagnosed with something that carries with it severe psychosis and it was part of the reason she gave up custody of her daughter....it turns out it is not that at all and is in fact a mix of 2 treatable things. PTSD being one, I feel a lot better knowing that I know how to support her. Selfishly I must say it is nice to know I was right all along. Something just didn't sit right with the original diagnosis, simply put she is too sane even without meds. Now this means we need to work harder on getting the house ready because it's going to be a lot easier to get my future step-daughter back sooner.

Very happy for you D.Oakes. I can be quite the cynic where relationships are concerned, but I'm also a hopeless romantic so it warms my heart to hear that you and your fiance are doing so well.
