Xenos is faster than his own shadow.
Sometimes.

What made me happy today: I actually had work to do. For maybe half an hour out of eight, but better than nothing.
And: pizza for dinner!

I got a large free cup of something warm and extremely alcoholic on my way to the car after leaving IKEA (there's probably something wrong with that), doubled up as my driver decided she didn't want hers! It made me happy, with extra smiles from the free biscuits too!

This was unfortunately followed up by a Gaaaah! worthy trip to a shopping centre.

Project Drawn and finished ...
Tonight, the treat of a fine ale in front of a nice fire.
Tomorrow's Friday, and there will be pizza or sushi bits in the city to the north.   Grin

I just received my pre-offer. This means I'll get an offer for my uni course Grin

...I should really check my emails more regularly. It was sent two days ago. The last time they sent a letter, so either the mailman is on strike again or the selection office has moved into the digital age. This has made me so pleased it might be the cure for my cold.

Yesterday I spent the whole evening in the workshop. The little green loco needed a minor overhaul.

I only wanted to check the rear axle bearings but.....in order to reach them properly I had to take the sinde tanks off. In order to do that I had to take the cab off. As all the bodywork was off I found that I could replace the lubricator drive rod as (years ago) I used a piece of wire as a makeshift replacement and then the "never change a running system" axiom went into operation. I also upgraded several valves, bearings, etc.

The good thing was, there was no phone, no doorbell, nothing interrupting me. So I had a quite relaxing evening. What makes me even more happy is that today I just have to replace one hose, put one side tank back in place, fit the drive lever to the union link and...be ready for a test run.

Finding a copy of 'The Witches of Chiswick' in my local WHSmiths.  That's two weeks now I've gone in and they've had something I would willingly read.  I really don't know what they're playing at  Cheesy

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

However did you get it to squirt that single stream of water straight up into such a tiny pipe?  Roll Eyes

Having managed to get to London and the hostel on my own. Yay for achievements! (although I already had to keep reminding myself of the fact I managed 10 days in Tokyo on my own. I will not let London get me!)

Not only is tomorrow Saturday, but I had one more Dr. Pepper left in my desk. A beautiful way to finish off the work day. (And a somewhat steampunk one at that!)

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

I am happy that in a couple of weeks, I am flying out to Oregon to see my dad. I don't get to see him often because he is on the other side of the continent from us. Also, my brother is going as well..it is our christmas present to him. Since he had a stroke about eight years ago, it is even more important to get out and see him whenever the opportunity permits, this time it's courtesy of my mom..

Finally finishing this week of work.  Much more hectic than usual and a ton of interruptions.

Now I can sit back with my beverage of choice and hopefully not think of next week for a few days.

Hot chocolate and rum. When I got to the bottom of the mug, the goopy chocolate was infused with pure spiced rum.

Life doesn't get much better than chocolatey, rum flavoured goop! Cheesy

Free Hot Chocolate (always nice)

The Bank gave me money to apologise for a mistake (not a lot, but nice to know you've been listed too)

Finally seem to be just about sorted for my first craft fair on Monday (a little nervous tbh)

hopefully by the end of Monday I'll have introduced Steampunk to some people and made enough money to make Christmas happen (fingers crossed)
