I do an occasional radio show for a comedy forum of which I am a member. This month the subject was 'What is Steampunk', and while I didn't come up with any conclusive definitions, I did find all sorts of excellent and/or silly music. It came to about two and a half hours long, so I've chopped it in half for download: Part 1: http://www.51055.com/cab/GettingUpSteam.mp3Part 2: http://www.51055.com/cab/Fullsteamahead.mp3(Right-click and 'Save Target As...' to download, rather than just listen.) Playlist: Where the Sun Always Shines - Doggerel Bank Yorkshire Tea - Uiscedwr Steam - Brian Eno & Jah Wobble Steam Powered (featuring Mr Jon Clark) - Professor Elemental The Death of the Cog - The Cog is Dead Coin Operated Goi - Voltaire Goggles - The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Join Us (Edit) - Katzkab Moritat - Das Ich - - Cabaret Black Iron Road (2011 Version) - Unextraordinary Gentlemen God is a Watch - The Melting Clock Etiquette - The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Teas - Donovan Gruts For Tea - Ivor Cutler Cup of Tea - Shack The Lighthouse Keeper's Bicycle - Doggerel Bank The Beast Of The Air - Tom Slatter Rivolta Silenziosa - Humanwine Full Force (Steamboy OST) - John Powell The Ballad of Mona Lisa - Panic! at the Disco Sleep Isabella (remastered version) - Abney Park VAUDEVILLAIN - Ghostfire Victorian Grindcore - The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing Sharp Dre... - ZZ Top Dress Him Up - The Particles Bucket And Steam - Ivor Cutler Jolly Cup Of Tea - Wizzard The cake of life - Ivor Cutler Cake is Love - Puffy AmiYumi Strange Artifact - Akai-Tsuki Cup Of Brown Joy - Professor Elemental The Forge Of Vulcan - Hawkwind Endurance - ? The Last Steampunk Waltz - Ghostfire Valediction (Rondeau Redouble) - Doggerel Bank Any criticism will be courteously received.

Thank you ladyelsie. As is always the case with these things, I have discovered a whole playlist worth of rather excellent music since compiling the show including Sunday Driver, thanks to your good self. I may have to record a second show in the New Year.

Hey There Sir Henry! Greetings from the Melting Clock. Just wanted to say what an outstanding job you did on your "What is Steampunk" show. It was very polished, professional, and entertaining. I'm looking forward to hearing more in the future. Thank you very much for including The Melting Clock in your excellent playlist. It was an honor to be included in such great company. I'd love to send you a copy of the new CD once it is finalized. Thanks again we really appreciate the exposure!
Kind Regards, Ryan of The Melting Clock

I can't seem to find a reply button on the message you (Sir Henry) sent me. All this new-fangled technology baffles me at times. Maybe I haven't posted enough here yet to send direct messages. But Yeah I'll definitely send you a copy of the CD when it is done. It was very encouraging for us to find one of our songs in your playlist. I like the Surreal/DaDa show you sent too. Well done!

Many thanks, Mr. Clock, and I'm glad you enjoyed the shows. I look forward to your generosity and can guarantee that the show will be playing more from your good selves as soon as possible. For those who have managed to miss the above-mentioned The Melting Clock's composition 'God is a Watch', for shame! It is rather wonderful.

Thanks again Sir Henry and thank you too Jonny. Jonny are you a member of Birthrite? I seem to remember coming across an excellent piece by a band sporting that moniker on Youtube not long ago. If that was you...my compliments. And for any who are reading this thread and have not heard Sir Henry's "What is Steampunk" podcast you simply must give it a listen. I can tell Sir Henry put alot of work into it. The dialog, sound effects , and music make for an excellent experience! And if the lyrics of this song are true, our good friend is a quite the accomplished swimmer as well! 16 Seconds flat!?! Outstanding!

Glad to be of service Sir Henry. Yes I am indeed a member of Birthrite, one does try to play the guitar, although some would say different So do both Sir Henry and myself now qualify for a free cd ? for all of our sterling promotional efforts that is.

Yes of course. Perhaps we can work out an exchange as I would love to obtain one of your works as well! And I shall certainly spread the good word about the talents of Birthrite!

Thanks for that, Boston. I'd forgotten that they were with the archives of the last 5 years' broadcasts on Megaupload. They were shut down two days after I paid for another 2 years storage, annoyingly. But it still looks hopeful that I'll get them all back at some point. In the meantime I've reupped them to a rather safer site, if anyone is still interested in them: Part 1: http://www.51055.com/cab/GettingUpSteam.mp3Part 2: http://www.51055.com/cab/Fullsteamahead.mp3(Right-click and 'Save Target As...' to download, rather than just listen.)
