first time will always be told in "numeric values" for as along as time is measured because that's the only way it can be. Sure the symbols and way it' counted may change but the meaning won't change that much in 10,000 years or even a 100,000 for that matter. At least as long as some human or above level intelligence exits on this planet to count time that is.

to have people ask “why” is the reason to build the clock! To hopefully make people stop seeing only the short term and realize that this world will exist long after we’re all dead and forgotten. in doing so show how our actions today WILL affect the future at the same time.

it’s about making people think outside themselves or even there life span and realize how much that matter too.

That is amazing, a mechanical clock that powers itself. I can't help getting a tingly feeling all over. What interests me is how it's supposed to automatically synchronise with the sun, unless it uses some long forgotten mechanical trickery that we've dismissed as obsolete.
