I believe that is the original special weapons Dalek. So SP or not it's certainly a classic. Although somebody obviously considered it quite Dieselpunk.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Have you seen the proposed updated version? never made it to the screen, but apparently some nutter's built one anyway.

I was referring to the dalek in a pith helmet rather than the poster of the picture.  Hadn't seen the dalek storm one before very GTI

I think that's an original non-canon design from the 'Daleks - Second Empire' comic.  Which is utterly brilliant and deserves to be read by the way.

Mark V please rename the thread "Fancy Dalek Appreciation Thread" or similar. Just for pictures and "oh's and Ah's!" and spotting Daleks (no hump backed power ranger Daleks need apply)

In Yorkshir there are three full size Daleks on display, at the Museum of Moving Image at Bradford, FAB Cafe Leeds, and Galaxy 4 bookshop in Sheffield.

At the expo in London this weekend there was a lovely full-size blue and silver Dalek (no picture sorry)

Of course Herr Doktor built his own full -size Dalek and designed the 12 in remote control version.

FAB cafe/bar in Machester has a black & silver Dalek.

Originally sketched by an effects artist for the un-made 30th anniversary special, "The Dark Dimension", built full size by a great Dalek builder named Allan, then put into the Dalek Empire comic by the Esteemed Mechmaster.

I built a small remote control steampunk Dalek, which I ran along the tea table at last Octobers MCM Expo with a macaroon in its pincer, on the VSS stand. It inspired Herr Doktor to make his steamed Great Uncle Davros. As Herr Doktor made the master of the R/C Dalek, upon which it was based, it called him "Grandpapa!" Grin

I have had thoughts of scaling it up, but as I do not drive, i would be unable to take it out for show  When I exhibit, such as at last weekends Expo, I am limited to what I can take on the train, in that case a big box of monsters.

I have what appears to be an ideal base for such a project. Maybe I can convince some locals to help me build a remote control steampunk dalek at about half scale. I'm afraid that I'd be hard pressed to bring it to any UK conventions though.

Also, why does the Siege Lord look like Godzilla?

...(no hump backed power ranger Daleks need apply)...
So I'm not the only one who's not very fond of those...
I only ask myself why the special weapons dalek hasn't come back in the new series?

Just because it's breathing fire like Godzilla: this strip has had a few (usually verbal rather than) visual jokes like this.

Still, it's a lot of fun, I really like a lot Mechmaster's designs!

Actually, the bustled GO GO DALEK RANGERS are glossed over as "our greatest mistake" in passing.
