There are some new boards over there. One in particular overlaps with some of this forum:
http://boards.4chan.org/diy/

As always, I advise people to abandon all hope before venturing into 4chan. You have been warned.

Wise words, indeed. I shall abandon hope and investigate once I'm not on a work computer.

Oh boy.

I don't mean to sound overly cynical but for example, question?

"How do you make your boxes? Dovetail or box joint? Angled edges and glue? Just hammer some nails in it?"

Answer from anonymous (of course)

"I stick pieces of wood by each other and nail the f*****s. Enjoy doing pointless work with your dovetails and s**t."

This is so gonna end in tears! Cheesy

Edit, I will just add before someone takes offence at that comment. I am very aware there are some pretty smart people on 4Chan. It's also inarguable that a great percentage of the people who post on there, seem quite determined to don the biggest ass hat they can find in their wardrobe before doing so.

I hope this will prove to be a positive step and that the sage like wisdom of some will override the colossal douchery of the rest. Hopefully it'll give some of them a more productive channel for their energies.

If a few end up with third degree burns or nine inch nails through their hands as a result, well meh.

In order to make an omelet and all that.

The last SP/4chan crossover was the 'Bronies' incident.

Personally, I suspect the only real use of the term DIY on that site is as another term for onanism.

Did you follow the link? Of course there are trolls who make homemade fleshlight threads, but there's an astonishing amount of good content given 4chan's nature.

I don't consider it an incident, simply a thread that fell off the bandwagon and never got back on. I meant for it to be a somewhat serious thread, to discuss the show and how you got in to it.

There is a reason for this. And trust me, when a bunch of harry potter geeks think your fucking retarded, you know there is something wrong.
