The Last Line cordially invites you to meet the publisher and writers of the steampunk compilations Tales from the Asylum, and Beyond the Asylum, at Nostalgia and Comics, Birmingham.
The Last Line
or
is a new, independent publishing house. It was set up last year with one very particular aim - to support new, often unpublished writers, writing in a specific culture of science-fiction - steampunk - by assisting and ultimately publishing their work.
The Last Line's publications are both written and published by steampunks - for steampunks.
'Tales...' and 'Beyond...' are the first two publications from The Last Line. 'Tales...' was published in September 2010; and 'Beyond...' was launched only a few weeks ago at the UK's largest steampunk convention in Lincoln. Both books originated on the pages of this very forum (and the third volume is currently in the planning stages in the same way).
The books feature a range of tales, through a broad swathe of history. Ghosts, airships, sea monsters, vampires, maddened cult leaders, aliens and more grace the pages.
This is your chance to come and talk to publisher/ writer Arkwright, and to other contributers, to learn more about how the books - and The Last Line itself - came about, and to hear the stories for yourself....
We hope to see you there!
(Please note that this event is the same day as the Steampunk November Nocturne
or
- why not make a steampunk day of it?!)
