Hi all. I had previously booked "twin bedded, en-suite room,  on Bed & Breakfast terms of £60.00  per night at the special rate of 3 nights for the price of 2 giving a total cost of £120.00 for the nights of 07, 08 & 09 September 2012." at the Tennyson Guest House in Lincoln; it's in South Park.

I am not going to need this room now so before I cancel it, is there anyone out there who would like to take over the booking? Not sure how this would work but I haven't spoken to them yet and guess they will be happy to have someone else to take it over. Can you message me or let me know if you would like it as I should let them know fairly shortly in all fairness.

Just thought I should let people know that I have now completed transfer of the room to some very nice visitors from across the pond, in other words it's no longer available!

The thing I love about The Asylum is the welcoming atmosphere and lack of illicit trade at the wonderful market which is only one of the wonderful things happening there this year.

I truly can't wait  Grin

Ah, there's about a month to go yet... oh wait, two weeks in Peru and a week on the canals... that leaves about a week! Crivens!

The Asylum will also be your last ever chance to catch Broadarrow Jack, after which we shall be sailing in different directions...  Sad

We're playing on Friday night, in the Orangery, with Tom Slatter.  You can get a taster of the potential sounds via this thread...

And we'd like to say thanks for having us!  You are a most marvellous set of people.  I'm sure we shall see you all in the future at other events, under other guises...

Well, I tided up my crafting room and organised my supplies. That's a good thing, right? Means I can get to everythign quicker and have more space to finish my build...you know, the one I'll have to rush to complete cos I just spent ages cleaning my room rather that actually working on it

Hmm, I guess I should start figuring out what to wear?
Or I just do what I usually do and spontaneously throw something together two days before the event.  Grin

Well my ball attire is sorted, and I have a back up emergency dress. I bought a new corset thing but it is one of those with the boob bits cut out and I have nothing to wear underneath so I'm not quite sure what to wear with it1

Do we know if there will be a secret market this year, I have acquired a vast horde of bits n bobs that'd be ideal to sell from a suitcase?
(Sorry if this has been asked & answered elsewhere)

The Illicit Market should be going ahead - details are being sorted before an announcement from the Guild of Privateers, Illicit Entrepreneurs and Scoundrels.

I asked about the Illicit Market a few days ago on the thread, but I guess my coded message was too cunning! (read the bits in bold??).

Sorry for being obscure, I shall get to making some odds and sods as I rather enjoyed flogging my wares at the illicit market last year  Grin

Well at least you have something to work with (and I'm looking forward to finding out how you solve the "bits cut out" issue).  I have found that the top half of my two piece gown has spontaneously decided not to fit (not even close). Now I have to scramble to figure something out and I don't sew!  And daughter two has outgrown the gown we put together for her a few years ago.  Now if only I had time to hit the second hand stores....

You could always change the top to have a laceing closure (unless it already has one). It's pretty simple and doesn't need that much actual sewing. I had to do it for my Ball Dress last year (got 2nd hand from a stupidly slim person).

Just carefully cut out the zipper, cut small holes for rivet/eyelets and hammer them in. Then thread through you lacing an DONE.

Wear a colour co-ordinating under shirt and the visible space where the top didn't met now looks planned rather than because it's been altered.

;DQuick, cheap and easy way to make a dress fit

Kathy, that is a wonderful idea, but I think I like greensteam's idea a bit better as I don't have the time to fiddle with the top right now.  Shopping there may be a perfect option (and I do love shopping Wink ).
Thank you both for the suggestions!
