Just to let you all know the Dead Dog Party tickets have now gone on sale.
Hurray! Just checking, will I be needing to buy a ticket or will I already be there for Stewarding duties? Stewards do not need a ticket - it is the staff's chance to kick back and relax.

Hey, umm sorry I haven't read through all of this thread, but stumbled across it and had a look at this event. I don't live too far from Lincoln and this looks pretty cool! I'm really new to all this however and don't even have a costume (although I could probably cobble something together from things I already own, and it would be a fun project to make some stuff). So basically I'm asking, would it be too much like jumping in at the deep end for me to book a couple of tickets for me and my other half? Don't want to feel/look like a clueless and awkward noob! :S
go for it, we were all noobs once. The asylum will be 4 years old in September, which is quite young. Good point I decided to go for it and got a saturday ticket. Actually, does anyone know if it's possible to park or is it really busy? Not sure whether to drive or take train

The train station is relativly close (all be it at the bottom of the hill an the castle is at the top) and may be advisable as you are only coming for the day so I'm assuming you won't have as many bags and those who will be staying over night. This would mean no additional charges for parking or potential tickets if you run over time on something.
Oh the other hand, Car would get you closer to the actual castle and mean you wouldn't be restricted to the dreaded 'Last Train' syndrome. You know, the point where you are having a really good time but absolutly have to leave or you'll be stranded. My friends and I found a small car park round the back of the cathedrel that was practically deserted last year.

Mr C and I aren't driving, so I am assuming there will be at least one free car park space in the grounds of the university we are staying at? Are we allocated a space? If so, someone can have ours.

The University is one of the venues and a large portion of the available accomodation. The Bishop Graves theatre is here and the Students Union. Parking here is free and is the recommended location for staff (towards whom the reply was directed) and for whom we will be looking at shuttle transport. It is approximately 3/4 of a mile from the other key venues. The University is looking at putting on a shuttle bus to and from the other venues at a nominal fee. There is closer parking to the other venues. Parking is £6.50 for 24 hours. Lincoln Council has much more information on travel and parking here: http://www.lincoln.gov.uk/visitor-and-leisure/transport-and-car-parks

Ah yes, know the dreaded last train syndrome well! Sounds like taking the car would be the better option then, and good to hear there's plenty of parking. Now my fella and I just have to decide which of us will be abstaining from alcohol

Dead dog ticket aquired....And a main Asylum one at last! Irritatingly missed the Mister B & Pocket Watch ones a while back, part due to faffing and then due to Paypal not working for a week or so. Shame as they were some of my fave bits of last year!
Not quite sure what i'm going to do Saturday night as I'm not much of a fan of Blackdog, well unless it's the Elgoods beer! Still am sure there will be some mischief to be had somewhere!!!

Likewise, not a Blackdog fan, I shall be at the Burlesque instead. With the event spreading further and further afield I shall have to plan more thoroughly with friends to ensure we don't miss each other.

The answer to that one probably varies on if Lady Elsie is in earshot!

Gentlemen, Please!!
I simply cannot allow you to besmirch the Estimable Major's moral rectitude in that perfidious manner!!
Such an uncouth utterance would never escape his lips.
He's much more likely to go with a Terry Thomas style "Hellllllllllo!" or a Lesley Phillips type "Ding Dong!"

Of course! Just look out the window for confirmation.
The glorious British Summer is one reason The Asylum has plenty of indoor venues. We have so far been fortunate with the weather in previous years, but I live in a city where an Outdoor Pursuits Festival has had to be cancelled due to inclement weather in July.

Time to build some kind of bustle that at the flick of a switch turns into a small submersible capable of carrying two adults..........
