Finally a very small tin of Firemans wax from the Colonies arrived  by international Dirigible mail. Gosh what Wiz Wiz wax it is too. Just a couple of photos of the wax in full use :-

In full Cad mode

Ha no, but it ws a little typo on my end its actually Firehouse wax and not firemans. However it would be great if it did make the 'tash fireproof, just incase of any pipe lighting accidents Smiley

Well I have the beard but no mustache, because I couldn't figure out how to get mine to do anything proper.  So I shaved it off. I keep my beard trimmed short, too. Seems that is really not Victorian style, but I think it make me look more Irish, especially when I wear my driving caps. And that is cool, because I am more Irish than anything else. People say I look Amish, though, having a beard and no mustache. Any thoughts?

I do tend to associate the 'chin curtain' (as I believe it's called) with the Amish. If you have a chin curtain and you wear a wide brimmed hat..you can't help but look Amish. However, If you wear it with a top hat you can't help but look like Abe Lincoln. If the chin curtain is closely cropped (and especially when  you have a cropped or shaven head) it has that 'Nu-metal' look about it.
I think the chin curtain only really has that 'Irish' look about it when you're red headed..(wearing a green suit while carrying a pig under your arm will also have this effect)

Be aware that when you go to Holland and Dutch speaking Belgium, you might get some laughs with a mustache-less beard.

A grey chin curtain can also make you look quite sailor-like.

Having been reading this thread for a few hours now, I have to say, the mustache I most admire is Capt. Dirigibles. Not too long, or too over the top. Very spiffing.

You're very welcome. I hope to grow a similar mustache once I am able, though I will have to wait a while, as my mother has told me she will shave it off in my sleep if I try to grow one.

Pretty much. She despises facial hair of any kind, though I don't know why.

Some women like it, some women do not. It is an unfortunate thing, but it is true nonetheless. You will get there eventually, I am certain.

My girlfriend says I am never to NOT have some form of facial hair, partly because without it I look like a twelve year old

I have similar problems, without my facial hair the other half says (and I agree with her) that I look older and far too much like my dad for comfort  Shocked  So the order of the day is 'keep the facial hair!'

Currently sporting a 'tasche and 'brazilian' combo, very occasionally I'll revert to a goatee (my standard form of facial hair since I was in my mid-20s). I am very tempted to grow out some mutton chops and see how that looks.

The last time I was clean-shaven was at London Expo some years back in order to cosplay an anime character (bearded anime characters being few and far between  Undecided)

Full beard & mustache.  The beard has not been shaved since 1986.  The 'stache has never been shaved and others acknowledged it as a real mustache in 1977 when I was 13.

Don't have a steampunk outfit together yet.  But here's me doing my medieval stuff (I'm in the mail)

My word, man... all you lack is an axe and helm and you could passably imitate one of Tolkien's dwarves! Good show, lad, good show indeed!

Something like this, perhaps?

And, yes, I have had children cheer me on by calling me 'Gimli'.

Sir, as a long-time fan of all things dwarven (despite the irony of my allergy to alcohol and sub-par ability to grow a decent-looking beard), I SALUTE YOU!
