What about those of us who may or may not be able to grow full beards yet? >.> Does the whole 5 o'clock shadow thing work, or is being more groomed/clean-shaven a better option for steampunkery?
(Also, how does everyone feel about sideburns? Too modern if you don't go for the whole mutton chops or are they alright?)
Well, I get the five 0'clock shadow if I shave at noon... so mayhaps I'm not the best example. However: The Beard(in all its form) is back, and thus so is stubble. Sideburns are good, providing they're well groomed. As has been said - it is very dependant upon the face.

ah, thanks. Based on this, what would you say? (Meh, I know the 'burns don't look too great in the second picture-they look really thin for some reason and I think I cut them too short.)

Seem fairly well groomed, and that's a fact. It does look like they're rather thin. If that's true, I wouldn't extend the sideburns any lower down on your jaw. If they are thicker, then you could extend it down. With your hair so light, and thinnish, I imagine it would be difficult for you to execute much other then longer chops or a full beard, but that's just my humble opinion.
Though it should be noted, and I'm sure a selection of our ladies will weigh in on this front - you don't require a beard, really.

Yeah, the whole "being fourteen" deal gets in the way of the beard. They're usually a bit longer and thicker, I spaced out and cut too much off of them last time I shaved. alright, I'll keep in mind to stick with the 'burns then. Thank you.

In what manner do you wish to sieze control of yon bushy extrusions? If you are speaking of waxes, I can reccomend no finer mustache wax than www.firehousemoustachewax.comI definitely reccomend their "wacky tacky" for a firm hold and obedient curl to the hirsute extensions. However, one must spend more than a little time rubbing it between one's fingers to warm it to pliability. Otherwise it may tug hairs free due to it's viscosity as you apply. Do be aware that it is a wax and will respond predictibly to heat. In other words, do be carefull while imbibing your hot, steam emitting beverages as wilting may occur. As a purely educational aside I would also say that Axe brand's "Messy Look Paste" for hair works as a functional mustache wax as well. Not as stiff as the product above, but servicable. More affordable and in larger quantities as well, should that be a concern.

looks good to me I will try one of the tins of the product you recommended and see what I think personally. 8 dollars is not to bad and if it works I will be back for a lot more. To bad places like this do not have free samples in a small pack to try them out. got some incredible gloves that way, and now I am not only going to be buying a lot of them but start selling them from my site as well.
