Hello again all! First off i want to apologize for the massive delay between my last post and this one. Life as we all know can be a fickle beast. So here is whats happened to me and the car: My gf lost her house temporarily due to a divorce she is currently going through and we had to move everything out in 7 days. The car is still being worked on and is still my daily driver so progress has been slower that we would like BUT there is progress: Not much change here except i got a awesome gift from a friend who is a electrician and we will be making it functional! We finally started on the outside adding rivets to the hood but we will be repainting it this week with a slightly different much cleaner design: We added a front lip (for those not in the know it is a body kit that is used to change the lower edge of the car to a new design) Added more details to the engine bay including a wooden cover to hide some of the wiring and i will be making matching ones for the front and other side of the engine: Thats where we are at! NOW this is where i need some input: We are keeping the elegant interior theme but i want to add a more military feel to bring the car to the next level we want to add things to the outside and inside to give it that feel. I have some ideas (we are adding torpedo style heads to the current fog light holes in the front bumper, thinking of adding riveted style strips along the body panels etc.) We need more ideas tho so please make suggestions and tbh nothing is too far fetched, just remember we work on a limited budget so we will be making most of it...lol) Thanks and again i am sorry for the large delay! OH to answer the exhaust question: In the import car world they do silly things like this just for fun, usually there are prizes etc.

How about taking that cold-air-intake and making it out of equally sized copper pipe or sending it threw a electrolysis bath? You could probably sell it to afford the copper pipe! And maybe some copper/brass foil tape for the strut bar?
May I ask? What type of adhesive did you use for the headliner and doors?

@Drew: I have been wanting to do that forever...lol and cost has always been a major issue. I could have it electroplated in copper for a relatively lesser fee. I have a different strut bar going in which i can paint to match the theme For the headliner we used 3M vinyl spay adhesive but with this fabric being so thin, we need to add a facing so the glue does not soak through the fabric. We are going to redo it with a pillow style design Doors were a combo of the same glue and also a model glue called zap a gap (basically super super glue..lol) @MU ... you with the ideas... and always so outside the box! I will look into it, however here are my concerns: Weight: Could a wooden wheel actually support a 2300lb car? Ride: How bad would it be? Or are you meaning to make the wheels look as tho they have wooden spokes? Thanks all OH btw, we also have plans for a actual periscope in the roof (removable when not at car shows) Ill keep ya updated on that!

well if you really REALLY want it to look a bit military, add some gun turrets to the side windows. old fashioned half cylinder looking deals with fake watercooled machine gun barrels sticking out, like an old pre-dreadnought or ww1 tank.
barring that, maybe some window static cling art? it could look like reinforced iron panels, for a bullet proof war wagon look.

Well - I was thinking that you get some alloy spoked wheels and paint them to look like wood (it's not that hard to do with the right paint and a comb...)

Prof.AVT,exactly which 3M spray product did you use? High strength 90,Super 88(80?)? I've used 88 before and it does not last, give it 3 years most and it will start to separate. I'm wondering how well 90 works. My interior looks horrible-I just haven't had the change to completely redo it .

We used a couple different ones since we have had the same issue with the fabric failing but this is due to it being so thin that the glue will bleed through if its applied the way it should be. We have a way around this tho and ill explain that with pics when we redo it 3m has one that was designed for this and for the life of me i cant find it. However i did locate this and it looks to be good: http://www.amazon.com/3M-38808-Headliner-Fabric-Adhesive/dp/B004MEBENMHope that helps, most of our car friends use 90 btw and have not had issues, but it all depends on the fabric used etc.

NP glad to be of help. So tonight we decided the car needed more boom boom so we are working on front mounted rockets (just for show ...lol) and a roof mounted gun. Look familiar? Thats right it's the core of the TVSC re-purposed into a more anti-air style weapon More to come on that tomorrow!

Today i finished up a couple of small projects. Made a wood cover for the engine and finished the other cover off for the side over the battery. These are show pieces that will only be on at car shows Also made a new dipstick cover from a knob i had laying around and the head of a really tiny hammer

Ladies and gentlemen I am alive... Once again life had taken me away from many things i love, I have had some difficulties with my health and have been working on fixing them... but fear not the SCION is still alive and well. With it being winter and all we have decided to redo a lot of the things that we feel we could do better. Also the car was vandalized over the summer and hopefully it will be going in for repairs after the new year. For now i will leave you with some current shots and a pic of what happens when fiberglass meets a curb... (don't ask...lol) I hope you enjoy, feel free to ask questions and i promise there will be more updates I received a scrollsaw for xmas so i plan on adding much more woodwork

LMAO!! We are considering it MU we are. Happy New Year to you good sir!
The thing thats holding me back is the rivets we use are very small and it would take a monumental amount. Would varied sizes be alright?

Well - you could use big rivets spaced further apart for the bigger flat panels (like the roof) and then do smaller rivets for smaller panels on the curves in the bodywork. And whilst doing the roof - you could design 'ejector seat hatches' into the panel design. I think you should then install a steam powered rivet gun in the back for on the road repairs.
