Here's mine now I have my new toy Cheesy

Not hugely steamy apart from the lovely victorian wallpaper. Mac OSX Leopard with selected Dashboard Widgets on permenant display courtesy of the "Dashboard Developer Mode" hack. The pale grey square in the top right hand corner of the screenshot is "dead space" caused by the screens being a different size to one another.

Just noticeable is the fact that the two screens have different wallpapers.

Main screen is at 1920x1200, and I make heavy use of OSX "Spaces" to segregate applications - this is my "Web Surfing"  space for instance.

Secondary screen displaying currently open chat window and selected most-used widgets is 800x480 (this is so that when I'm using Lightroom or another app full screen I can still keep abreast of what's going on in chat). Apart from the chat window, all are Dashboard Widgets - Nixie tube clock, calculator, system monitor, itunes controller, google search-bar.

800x480?Huh

Thats the same wall paper as my myspace.

The icons are on RocketDock. http://rocketdock.com/download  You can find different skins and icons on their site or even on deviant art.  I just started using the RocketDock recently and I am really liking it.

Not terribly fancy, but I just finished building it last week, so it's on the desktop until I finish my next graphic.

Perhaps more victorian than steamy, but it goes with the house Smiley

Heh. I thought I was good with computers, but man...

This "British Library Windows Unabridged" is something I really want.
I found a download page here, so now I have all the icons. I also found icontweaker here. I downloaded it, started it up, began to change a few icons, saved and tried to load a theme. It didn't work. My luck, I guess.

The thing is, it's going to take TOO MUCH TIME to change all icons one at a time, even if I DID manage to save and load a theme.

So my question is, could someone PLEASE help me find a way to (perhaps download BLWU again) and "install" it, so it changes all the icons by itself? Either by just changing them, or give me an option so I could get it as a theme here
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It's swedish, but I think you know where I mean anyway. And yes, I'm a metroid-dude. I'm just in the process to "upgrade me to steampunk", thus my question.

It's giving me a headache, really.

I found these forums while on a search for steampunk/Victorian OS X themes, only to find that they didn't exist.

So I made this set of icons in the last few hours, and decided, as a regular purveyor of Brass Goggles, to join and share these.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The goggles are Finder, the pressure gauge is Dashboard, iCal needs to display the date so I can't replace it, the stamp is Mail, the compass is Safari, the victrola is iTunes, the speaker is last.fm, the toy duck is Adium, the hand crank is Transmission, the projector is VLC, the globe is Firefox, the quill and ink is TextEdit, the typewriter is Pages, the camera is Photoshop, the photo album is iPhoto, the frame is Preview, the guitar is GarageBand, the oscilloscope is Activity Monitor, the gear is System Preferences, the stack of books is Downloads, and the elephant foot trash can is Trash. Originally I replaced all the folder and drive icons with old looking books and the document icons with weathered pieces of paper, but that was too much and made it annoying to navigate.

Addendum: These half-sized images don't really do them justice, but that's all my Photobucket will let me upload.

I use the Firefox skin Glowygold which is not all that far removed from a brass/copper effect.
The OldFactory theme is kind of Dieselpunk... and the Mythical Sirens theme looks like somebody has been at the laudanum.

Hello i'm new here, so i hope it's the good section for this:
Screen of my  own forum "The Factory" with steampunk design (it's a forum for helping to make games with rpgmaker)

Our Community like steampunk, so we decided to make a design like it.(click to enlarge)

The green screen into forum, used to be a chat, but since some months it's only a pub space 'cause some database problems (i'm working to add a working chat system )

We are making a game with steampunk background, i will do presentation soon

Here be mine... wallpaper taken from steampunkwallpaper.com and the Windows Media Player skin customised from the DaVinci version by yours truly. Trying to find a way to add steam to it now, though due to the way WMP skins are made this is proving exceptionally difficult...

It looks pretty good with a dark aero skin
Its not quite complete, but here is the file 1600x1200 if you want it:
