Thank you for your kind words. Everything went well yesterday. For now the foetus is 6 weeks old, it is to small to determen exactly how old it is (5.1mm) It was old enough to see a little heartbeat. The doctor said a couple of days earlier might not have shown a heartbeat. It was just two pixels on screen flickering.
In two weeks my wife is getting another scan to see how old the foetus "exactly" is. From there a Chorionic villus sampling is going to be planned, around 10 weeks. About three weeks after that we know if the foetus carries the disease. We both carry the disease Lucas* had. Meaning, our DNA has one infected strand. When new life is formed, one of the two DNA strands from both my wife and I form a new DNA. So, there are 4 possibilities: Diseased strand from me with a healthy strand from my wife, healthy strand from me with a diseased strand from my wife, both strands are healthy or both strands are diseased. The later is the one that is deadly. 75% chance it turns out good, 25% it doesn't. A fair chance, but still a chance it turns out bad.
Fingers crossed for the next couple of weeks.
The blood loss is probably from the settling of the foetus. Most of the time the blood stays inside the body, but sometimes it comes out.

My wife had a miscarriage last evening. The blood loss got wors and she had stumach ake. We rushed to the hospital where they noticed the foetus was missing. Now my wife has got to get rid of the remaining blood clods before tomorrow. Tomorrow she has to go back to the hospital to see if everything is out. If not, it has to be removed. The best way, ofcourse, is when it comes out the natural way.

"Well, I don't really think that the end can be assessed as of itself as being the end because what does the end feel like? It's like saying when you try to extrapolate the end of the universe, you say, if the universe is indeed infinite, then how - what does that mean? How far is all the way, and then if it stops, what's stopping it, and what's behind what's stopping it? So, what's the end, you know, is my question to you."

Consider a votive candle placed in a cobalt blue glass cup here, hoping such brings peace and serenity to you both.

In my culture doing such calls for an angel-spirit-faerie to come and calm ones dreams and thoughts.

Ahhh man - that's rough.  I'm sooo sorry to hear it. :'( :'(

As I mentioned, my wife also endured multiple miscarriages and has written about her journey.  We were fortunate enough to encounter a remarkable doctor (Dr Gavin Sacks http://ivf.com.au/fertility-specialists/ivf-australia-doctors/dr-gavin-sacks) who is pioneering a new method of testing and miscarriage treatment with great success.

Katrina (Mrs. Elvis) has written a little about his theory here...

...and he was also in a 60 minutes story a couple of years ago..

Anyway - I will keep you in my prayers..

God bless.

Thank you all for your kind words. We are doing well considering circumstances. We find comfort in the thought that the foetus might have the same discease as Lucas*, meaning it didn't have a chance at all to start from.
Thank you elvisroe for the links. I might look into them later on today.

Very sorry to learn of your loss, bicyclebuilder - and
we, too, endured multiple miscarriages before giving
birth to healthy twin daughters.

Y'all are in our prayers.
