Major Wolfram Quicksilver and myself have recently been discussing the prospect of visiting Newark Air Museum at some point.  Obviously we are approaching a busy time what with holidays, the Lincolnshire Steam Rally and the 2011 Asylum in September, however, I wondered would there be any enthusiasm for such a future event.  The website is   www.newarkairmuseum.org

This sounds like a fascintaing museum - another one I haven't been to as well. You're right - it's so busy at the moment! But it would be lovely to have a few things to look forward to after the Asylum...

How does the first weekend in October sound?  That way, some bank balances might have recovered slightly after The Asylum, hopefully the weather won't be too wintery, and it sets up the Steampunk Saturday for the following weekend nicely.  Now, do we do the Saturday or the Sunday?  Sunday might be helpful for those that work the Saturday shift, but I'm ok with either.

The first weekend in October sounds fine, and Sunday definately seems to be a good idea since people work Saturdays. Looks a very cool place!

First week in October sounds fine. As I understand it  3/4 of the exhibits are indoors and the facilities are excellent. See the link in the first post.

There looks to be quite a lot of interest in this visit so a firm date has now been set.

The preferred date is  Sunday,  9th October 2011, to meet at 11.00am at the museum.  The website is www.newarkairmuseum.org

Bring your picnic and hope to see everyone there.

I shall be there, though I'll probably be a gibbering mess as I'm working a nightshift! So pardon me if I talk rubbish with a slight slurr all day!

Whilst I don't technically need a lift, I might travel with you and share fuel costs if that's OK, himself will be back in India then you see, he leaves on Tues next week  Sad

I take it by this that you are declining a lift on Air Defenders Sellers behalf. In that case we gracefully withdraw our offer.
