At The Tusk and Garter Club, Brighton on Friday 25th March , White Mischief are hold ing their regular 'Last Friday of the Month' party and both Prof. Elemental and Mr B are on the bill!!!

Could this be the showdown we've been waiting for!!???

Ooo tonight! I expect a FULL report by the turn of sun Saturday. Hangovers permitting of course!

The Chap takes the position that Elemental is
"taking Chap-hop into the dangerous realms of the very musical form it satirises"
and while I agree that there are some aspects of modern hip-hop that Chap-hop or Steam-hop can quite happily do without, good natured and witty bantering and battling has always been an important cornerstone of all hip hop based genres and to simply ignore this aspect of it leaves Mr. B looking a little lacking in confidence in his skills perhaps?

Well of course! I wholly agree. To take the style and not assume the modus operandi is cowardly. The point of rap is the fight. It's stream"punk", not steam"mod". To say one is taking the higher ground by not fighting in a rap contest is like wheeling a mouthy quadriplegic into a boxing ring. It beggars sense.

Truth in action, and truth will out. Skill against skill alone: We shall see TONIGHT! Where this goes.....

Someone had the sheer audacity to mash-up Mr.B and Professor Elemental on the u-tube. Unfortunately they did an alright job.

This one?

Chap Hop Wars Mini Mega Mix (Mr B Vs Prof.Elemental)

Bit jarring in places but not so very bad.  Personally though I say they're equally good and any attempt to decide which is the better is a sadly fruitless task.

Persons intending to travel by open carriage should select a seat with their backs to the engine, by which means they will avoid the ashes emitted therefrom, that in travelling generally, but particularly through the tunnels, prove a great annoyance; the carriage farthest from the engine will in consequence be found the most desirable.

Yes that one. I just didn't enjoy it. While as both a musician and a fan of mash-up/remixes, I just don't feel the heart and groove that make a good mash-up. Its the auditory equivalent of photo-shopping together pictures with different resolutions. This is only my opinion, not a statement of fact

Hmmm indeed.
It also looks like the only way to see it is too buy a £40 one day ticket to Meadowlands on the Sunday.
As much as I would love to see the showdown, that is just a bit too rich for me.

You know, all these fractious oaths and boasts of impending lyrical violence do tend to vex the spirit. I think I'm just going to withdraw from it all and contemplate something completely and totally harmless. Like cute fluffy kittens......

Is the winner of a Chap-Hop battle awarded 'The Lonsdale Braces'?

What a spiffing idea, Doctor. I'm sure someone can come up with a suitable design.

We'd probably run into legal problems if we tried to use that name.

They wouldn't 'hold up' in court.
