The official cut-off date is indeed September 30, so we'll take submissions up until that point. I may be forced to push it back a little bit though, as we've had exactly one submission so far.....
I'll send out copies of the waiver form in just a few minutes to everyone who requested one. Mr. Howes, I apologize for the delay sending one to you. I think Abi and I each thought the other of us was checking the submission email for requests. Ooops! Again, my apologies.

Thank you Mephit! I do have a question (or three): I read color photos are requested, no black & white, and no sepia - what about color wash? It's color, but very light. Sort of like tinting. Or Also, are effects such as aging the photo permissible? Or will any effects, etc. be done on your end & we need only submit raw standard full color no effects added photos?

No, I don't think there's any problem with using your photos just because you've also uploaded them to another site as well. As long as they don't do anything nasty like try and co-opt your copyright of the work just because you've uploaded it (not that I think DeviantART does that, it's just something that's been a problem in the past on the internet), I can't see how it would hurt anything. As long as the photos meet the submission guidelines as posted in the first message on this thread, I'm happy to receive them. |

Feel free to send it over to us. I'll take a look at it and see. The major issue is that the background art of the calendar is a parchment paper type thing. Sepia and gray-scale photos just kind of blend in with the background rather than grabbing the eye. If the color tint is very soft, I think it may have the same problem. Aging effects are fine I suppose, though I was planning on putting a border around each photo (and the photo has a background around it anyway) so burned or ragged edges or the like would possibly look very odd. "Why is the photo burned but ornamental border and the parchment it's printed on not?" kind of thing. You can do an image search for Victorian postcards to get an idea of what I'm going for. |
