Let's see if I can submit more than a pretty background Wink Not quite sure if and when I have the time, but, well, it's been too long since I've done a Steampunk shoot Smiley

Ideas as to how this can be pin-up welcome; as strange as it may seem, I know of little man-pin-up for inspiration Wink

I suspect that the closest thing to such an inspiration will be the poses of the disreputable men on the covers of "bodice-ripper" novels, assuming you're going for that type of visual guide. On the more academic persual of inspiration, think of ways to be provocative, be it through mad science, sultry lighting, or through general daring.

Personally, I find the "accidental pin-up" most appealing to me - women who 'accidently' seduce. All in all, I figure it could be true the other way around...

Just out of interest, and I'm sorry if I've totally overlooked it elsewhere on the thread, is there a final deadline date for submissions?

We decided on submissions being due at the end of september. And you're welcome to send more than one photo if you don't mind us choosing, but if you know what you want, then only send the one Smiley

And remember, photo editing your final product is fine, but we need all submissions in color. Sepia/B&W washes out too much when combined with the calander formating we've got established.

Unfortunately, you'd have to find someone who purchased the 2010 one. To keep them "special" we don't have them out on the internet. Look to your models for inspiration. I'm certain they are the lovliest of ladies and that they will shine for your camera.

The lovliest of ladies? I am not THAT lovely! Quick mind-blip of a question, will there be a free/reduced copy available for the models/photographers who took part? Cheesy

We do them at cost, so we can't really go any cheaper without Mephiot and I paying for them ourselves, heh heh heh.

Yup, this isn't done for profit. It's done so people can have a wonderful bit of artwork featuring the wonderful people of Steampunk!

Yes, yes. You'll have to send it my way. I don't remember the bloody password for the calendar email account you set up. I'm sure I've got it somewhere around here........

Oh, and I do have a couple of photographs of the 2010 calendar (the only other one yet produced) from back when I was in production of that calendar, just to show folks what the general layout was. The color's not great and they're not high-resolution or anything (webcams suck, they really do), but it will give you a general idea of what the first calendar looked like. Apologies for the boringly cluttered setting as well. They were taken at my office computer.

I haven't yet decided how substantially I'm changing the layout for this year's calendar. I was waiting to see some of the submissions before playing too much with the design. I do have a new background texture at the very least, and I think the corner treatments for the photos will change. I'm also going to definitely change the cover design as I wasn't very happy with how that turned out. I just blanked on what else to do with it. Not sure about fonts and such. I quite like those typefaces and thought they were very readable. Any thoughts from folks who bought the last one?

password sent!

And I look forward to seeing what you come up with! I thought the prior fonts were perfect, FWIW.

For those of you that haven't seen the 2010 calendar up close, it came out wonderfully Smiley

Sounds interesting, I might submit something once I get some photos of my new outfit, won't be until next week though.

I'm guessing if we were to submit photos for this we wouldn't be allowed to upload them elsewhere?

I just found this thread & would love to submit a photo! Emailing for the waivers.  Is the submission cutoff September 30 or earlier?  Full body or headshots or either?  Thank goodness Mr. Bagdaddy can operate a camera, now he just needs to point it in my direction.
