Maybe you would have enough photographs if you aim for one calender every two years.
Besides which I might have finished one outfit to a high enough standard for entry next year! Everything I have is still in the process of being made and full of safety pins on the inside. My back is the best view of me anyway.

Unfortunately, it would seem to be every three years at a minimum. There's only been one and it was done two years ago. Perhaps I'll try again next year.

Unless you can get to costume conventions/competitions or send a photographer to do the job. Relying on volunteers is always risky.

It's sorry I am, mate... Hopefully next go round (whenever it may be) both my wife AND myself'll be able to send in some pictures, that'd take care of two...
BLAST, and I was really looking forward to it, as well! The ladies of this forum are simply STUNNING!

Perhaps, right, what you could do is start a Facebook page for it? and let people submit throughout the entire year, for the following years calendar. That way, if we are in a photograph we really like we can share it on the Facebook page, and then you'll have a whole wealth of photos to pick from?

Would those of us who do not use facebook still be able to participate?

That would be nice in a way,but if the pics are 'grouped' then it would be easier to pick from and as a collective it could make the idea to participate more attractive. One would see a collection vs a pic here or two on a page here or there. Again, making 'I would like to add mine' all the quick to do. ?

Good idea, Lady Ava. The experiment has been started here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/392562790802438/

The problem with submitting through Facebook is that good quality printing requires far higher resolution than displaying onscreen. 300 to 600 DPI versus 72 - 96 DPI or three to six times larger. FB automatically downsamples photos to save server space. Pictures off it are therefore not of printable quality. I also don't think there's a way to guarantee the submitters have filled out a release form giving the designer and/or printer the legal right to use their picture(s).

Perhaps a way around that is to contact the selected models for the original file? I don't know how plausible that'd be, but I REALLY would like to see this thing get off the ground!

So, is does that sound like a plan, then? Might be worth posting the Pin Up FB Page into all of our local steampunk groups/telling other interested parties. I wanna see this do well

I'm not having that particular problem, but it's telling me I need to log in. Since I don't use Facebook, there's probably not much that can be done about it.

This is true. But as the facebook group is intended to be a secondary option, with this forum as the primary, it shouldn't be an issue.

I just sent off to join (Xenos Markus O'Sullivan). I'll probably be using this forum as my submission method, but I do enjoy seeing what the others are up to-one needs to know the competition!

It's likely that the Facebook page might just end up with photos of us all looking smashing, and then being repeated here.
