Auckland will finally get the chance to have a Steampunk related event, This event is being hosted by The Museum of Transport and Technology and is set to take place on the 12th June 2011. If the turnout is good we hope that MOTAT will make this a regular event.

The genres has been extended to include Time Travellers from various periods but the primary focus will be toward Steampunk.

Anyone registering at the gate and wearing the appropriate themed regalia will receive free entry.

As more information becomes available I will try and post an update however feel free to PM me if you have any questions of suggestions.

I'll see if I can make it! There aren't many of us in New Zealand...

I'll also be paying my way as I own very little steampunk clothing...

I think I should also mention I had a dream about this game, only Bailey was a woman...

I assure you, that incident in Singapore was all a misunderstanding.

I have booked a fast Airship from Christchurch and found suitable lodgings - so will see everyone there. Bringing my Photonic Imager to record the event.

Neave, It was great to meet you there and I absolutly loved your Photonic Imager. I cant wait to see some of the images that some from it.

Hopefully you made it back to CH OK especially with the flights being cancelled due to the ash cloud but then given you guys were hit with another quake im not sure you would have want to have been back there.

Such good fun and a great turn out!!! I saw you Professor but I expect you didnt notice me - I was wearing black!!! I wish I sold black dye I would be very rich!!
Glad you are ok Neave, hope you were able to get home though I think the power is not on everywhere - poor CHCH  Sad
Got lots to do before the next event - there was so much inspiration. I am planning an articulated arm which will also be the operating table for my vet outfit. If I dont get it finished I'll be...um...wearing black.... again.... Grin

It was a most splendid day indeed! My wife and I were very pleased to host Lady Helen Steampunk and Agent Darling of the League of Victorian Imagineers (Oamaru) for this event. They were such a lovely couple, and we had a delightful time with them before Aether & Iron as well. Their trip back to Oamaru was delayed due to the volcanic ash cloud from Chile.

And a sky-kraken belched. And the skies over the South Island were cast over with the stench of the foul beast's charcoal breath. And the dirigibles were made fast to their moorings, for not a single airship captain would venture forth into the inky blackness of the maw of that great beast. And the intrepid travelers Lady Helen Steampunk and Agent Darling were thus stranded in Auckland after the "Aether & Iron" event, to await a brave captain in the morn who may offer them safe passage home.

They made it home safely a day later than planned.
