Lot's of fine weaponry as per usual Well as some of you may remember I had made a gun a while back called the TVSC which if you remember it you also met a unfortunate demise. Well last night after many many months of pondering and deciding what to do with it, I finally chose to add itto my current car project the S.C.I.O.N Here is where it's at atm, will be heading out in a few to continue work on it Shes rough but give me time. I am going for a anti-air style look, any suggestions are welcome

The holster for my Boba Fett blaster is more or less finished! Not too shabby for a first job in leather I should mention the invaluable help of the board's Prof. Higgins who lit the way about tools and techniques.

Not exactly a steampunk weapon, and it's only a repaint, but here's my gun for an upcoming LARP event: Currently I'm working on a holster for it... No idea how it's going to turn out Not exactly steampunk, but I would say definitely Dieselpunk, which should be good enough for almost everybody in these pages.

Not too shabby for a first job in leather You have learned well my young padawan The holster turned out really well and I especially like the use of the lap belt fastening. Fits well into the starwars genre for the LARP game. What size lens optics did you end up using in the blaster in the end ? I cant really see the front clearly but it looks 30-40mm ish and also what did you use for the grip ?

Hey oop Phil! The lens is quite small, only about 20mm but it does have a decent range on it and it fits inside the casing very nicely. The grip is made from two part putty - it does look a bit untidy but is very comfy to hold Well done! Where did you acquire the airplane seat buckle for the belt!
It's actually from an old British car we found at the scrapyard years ago... Can't remember what it was - sorry Thanks for the comments chaps.

That's a nice paint job Thomas... What does the steam pipe do, presumably it projects vapour from the barrel?

Thanks Ocelot, it funnels smoke from a portable smoke machine fixed on a baldric (the aforementioned steam kit) but I must admit most of it exits the gun through the slots of the "reloading handle" (don't know the English word for it). So very little actually exits the barrel. No big deal, it still looked good as I reloaded Edit: you can actually see the smoke at 2:38 in this video

"Cocking handle," "Charging handle," "Bolt handle," "Handle thingy"....... There are many terms for it. Essentially it's the handle used to pull the bolt to the rear which cocks it.

I personally prefer "whosamawhatsit", "thingamajig", or my personal favorite "dooiewhacker".

Not specifically steampunk, but I consider the classic side-by-side to fit pretty much all genres. I am very new to the whole "painting plastic guns" thing, and nerf (or in this case "nerf-like") in general. But the next Firefly LARP I will be attending uses them, so I guess I have to learn. For as we all know, no respectable brothel is complete without a shotgun hidden under the bar This is one of the first prototypes: It started life as a horrible orange/yellow monstrosity. This is the result after barrel shortening, stock removal, primer, 2 layers of base, 3 layers of metallic automotive paint and 4 layers of clear coat. I realize that I should have spent a bit more time sanding and preparing it, to avoid seams and such, but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Sorry to correct you, but the proper term is charging handle. Sorry. I realized that in this case you are correct. Think about a "bolt action" rifle. With this kind of firearm the user operates the bolt directly for each shot. No other parts are involved so the hand operated part would infact be called the bolt. In a semi or fully automatic system the operator pulls back a "charging handle" which in turn pushes the bolt backwards. When the operator releases the handle it returns to the forward position and is held there by a spring. This action only needs to be performed after reloading or in the event of a malfunction.

Come to think of it, the particular Nerf gun we are discussing is a manual repeater. (just like a bolt action) Hypothetically if it was a "real" gun, it's process would be the same as say an Steyr M95 or a Swiss Schmidt-Rubin, in that it would be a straight-pull bolt action. So it would be a bolt.

This one is the Mk vi. It got made before the Mk vii posted previously, but has been waiting for a stand. In any case, to hell with mundane sequential conventionality!!

Picked up this toy at the op shop for the princely sum of $1, finally got around to giving it a new paint job. As you can see, it still lights up! Makes shooty noises too Here's a before and after:

Here's some of my Nerf blasters. 2 actually. 1st up, a Maverick. Yes, there are over 9000 other steampunk Mavericks out there, but this is mine. This was my 1st time trying Nerf modding, might go back and add somemore detail. Next, a Jolt.

Greetings and Salutations to all.. 1st post.. 1st Nerf mod.. I may add more to it but I think it came out well for a 1st attempt. Sadly this gun no longer fires as I had to lock the slide/trigger in place because.. when I split the gun halves during constructing springs popped and flew across the room and.. I just never bothered with putting them all back in where they went so.. this one is static. #2 is in progress.. Gonna go with a more Gray/Silver theme on the next one. Valued input and comments please.. Der_Doktor.. (not Herr)
