Is it one of those toys that pulling the trigger whizzes up an abrasive wheel inside which drives against a lighter flint and produces showers of sparks out the end?

New Gun...not as steamy I When I started it...I guess this is more cyberpunk. I really like this one! It has a real 'Blade Runner Blaster' aesthetic about it, great use of found parts there. Well done.

Thanks...Just for the curious the parts that i can identify from my junk box are : An old starter pistol, the handle for a box cutter, a cabinet hinge, many bits and pieces from an old sewing machine and a couple of bits from on old hard drive Well done.

Yeah.. the ones with a metal frame either have one of those slide-out blades, or the fixed blade, where you have to undo a screw to turn the blade around, or replace it with a new one.. they're not terribly expensive, either..

Thank you! That's what it looked like and I agree it does make for a very effective hand grip - just never heard the name before.

Number Two Son just got involved. I'm going to have to do the cam design for him, but the lad's made a promising start on the calculations for a steamed-up chaingun with working nerf-shooting capability. Does anyone have a resource for the specs (mass, calibre etc.) for those whistling nerf darts? We're working on approximations at the moment.
14.8mm -> (]==== <- 12.6mm Overall length: 71.9mm ^ ^ 13.3mm 58.6mm Hope this helps. I took these measurements myself with a vernier calliper, unfortunately however I do not have anything suitable for measuring the dart's mass and was unable to find a value on the aetherwebs. Good luck to you with this project and may you find much enjoyment in it, it sounds like a good one. Great work from everyone else too, I fear that it could take some days of conversing to give everything on this thread the credit and attention it is due and that I shall not truly be able to do so here. Splendid and inspirational stuff all. Q

Why resist? Paint it up, then wear it with an Insane Clown Posse outfit. Do it. The voices want you to indulge.

MORE BRASS MORE BRASS MORE BRASS (BTW - wasn't PT Barnum featured in a recent Rankin novel? I bet this would have been his personal side arm, the man [as portrayed by Rankin] would have been vain enough to have his name embossed on his weapon).

Great work lads!!! Here's my latest creation/modification... I bought a little yellow petron toy crossbow a while back and have finally got around to finishing it - OK so technically it's not a gun - but it's close... and here's the original... basically I ditched the stock in place of a wooden pistol grip, added timber inserts to the foregrip then painted, stained and decorated - It still needs a few coats of clear but I'm happy with the victorian look it's taken on.
