I got a day off, and rather than spend it watching episodes of Warehouse 13 or Doctor Who or some such thing as I normally would, I decided to finally get a project out in the real world so as to stop it rattling about my skull. SO, I give you this thing... Details Outstanding, Sir!!! Looks suitable for skirmishes both in the ionosphere or on terra firma!! Well done, Sir! I'm hoping for your opinions, thoughts and or general musings about this, my latest piece of weaponry. It should be said that it is constructed nearly entirely of metal, with the exception of the faux wood, plastic grip.

A three-barrel SteamPunk'd mingun project that I am very slowly working on. All the gears will rotate when the trigger's pulled. I'm working up a steam engine for it right now. Just one of many projects that I usually have going..

Well done on the Mk VIII!!
The grip looks familiar, but I can't place where I had seen it before.

Here is a newly finished garter pistol, for a upcoming FireFly LARP. A "slightly" modified Nerf Jolt. It has every conceivable internal upgrade, plus a few that I haven't seen done before. Such as a reshaped and reinforced trigger sear, to give it a shorter, lighter and smoother trigger pull. On the outside, the trigger has been trimmed down quite a bit. Primer, base coat, 4 coats of automotive metallic paint and 7 coats of clear coat. It doesn't show up to well on the photo, but the large number of clears coats gives it a glass like finish over the raw, dark steel. Grips are purple glitter set in hard epoxy resin. In it's current state, this thing out ranges Longstrikes, left and right

I'm a convert to the little jolts. I had started on a set of dueling pistols made from secret strikes but after playing with a jolt, forget about all that pumping! nice job on decorating it, they have such a bottom heavy design, it's a little hard to dress up at all. my only thought to date is to make the barrel actually double over the length of the plunger body and have the trigger dangle down so that the plunger tube is under the barrel and the cocking handle is about where a cleaning rod would be, then its just a matter of making a wood stock to finish it off.
you mention upgrades, does it have the restrictor removed and does that help? they seem quite powerfull in a stock configuration.

The restrictor is removed, yes. And I did a fair bit of dead space removal, to get smoother airflow with less turbulence. I also lightened and refinished the plunger and tube, to get a 100% airtight seal. Then the spring was swapped out for one that is about twice as hard and a small ball bearing spacer was added to the base to allow the spring to compress smoothly. The loading thingy is shortened and now has a steel tube inside it for added strength. I think that covers most of the internal upgrades. And yes. Range and accuracy has been improved. Haven't tried only removing the air restrictor, but I have heard that it makes only a very small difference, unless you also make other modifications.

O.k. Being of limited manual dexterity I'm not really capable (or skilled enough) to work in actual wood or metals. However, I used some Humbrol paints, some odds 'n' sods lying about and a bit of imagination to 'mod' a plastic rifle. It's not a Nerf but a similar dart shooting toy. I hope I can get the 'photo to show.... Being plastic it's obviously very light...but hopefully it'll look good as part of an outfit and in 'photos.

Finished this one up last week, my first laser blaster, calling it The Samson Revolaser. Gauge was fun to make, the options are Aggravate, Mutate, Dispatch and Tea time. I can defiantly say I will be making another real soon, really had fun with this one. Enjoy.

Posted here from tactile, for posterity. PVC body on a handrill. ----------------------------------------------------- I like the winchester Rockula - it's quite an effective conversion of that dart rifle. What's the action like on it? Is it weedy and plasticky or does it make a nice sound? Cpl Heinselmanoff, that thing's fantastic. Elvisroe, how did you do the muzzle flash effects? -Matt
