Really like the filigree details. Stampings or paint I can't really tell? I finally got one of these. Suprisingly heavy I must say, definitely needs a holster. I'm replacing the grips with real wood ones, but I quite fancy some barrel decoration as well. That kind of thing looks ideal.

Argus, Those filigree details are stickers.. gold peel and stick stickers from a Hobby Lobby. I have another similar set for my next gun with the gray/silver scheme I'm starting soon. Der_Doktor (not Herr)

My first steampunk gun, and my second steampunk creation. And roughly the gun I started with. It was one of my toy guns I got about ten years ago and it sorely needed a remodeling

I say, greetings old chaps. Seems like the done thing to post one's creations on here. So here's my contribution of a pair of duelling pistols, done this weekend as my first attempt. Had to rake up dim memories of dark washing and dry brushing from my youth whilst education #1 son in the arts.

Mr Moosehead, I love the paint job on the grips, where the blueing has worn off to show the breass underneath. Smashing work!

The Mk vii. C'est fini. I must say, this is my favorite gun you've made thus far. I always had mixed feelings about the open male thread being the muzzle but I can see that you've come up with a wonderful solution for that little problem.

Ta, very much.
The steel bottles that form the main body of the series are from a compressed air confetti firing system and are scrap after one shot. Seems rather wasteful, so I recycle them. Happily the neck is a fraction under 22mm diameter, which means that 'end feed' plumbing fittings are a perfect fit and the ideal base for attaching lots of brass and copper do-dads. The coil is wound in 3/8'' copper brake pipe.

A slightly heftier one than usual from myself: Based on the SMG in the latest Sherlock Holmes, with the addition of a few baroque "carvings". All wood, aluminium and brass, with the exception of the magazine and sculptures. -Matt

I humbly submit before you kind folks, my first attempts at steam-punking. These are currently both works in progress and will be finished shortly. ==Monk's Finger== The larger of these two firearms was quite specifically my first attempt. It's original existence is thought to be from a Swedish powered drill. The fickleness of electrical motors was demonstrated by it's short lifespan of a mere afternoon. It's now reborn as a gentleman's side-arm. The finished unit will likely include a power-gauge and the extension of the barrel will be affixed with leather binding, a re-finish on the barrel and perhaps a sight. Cog-workings and such will also be added as the build reaches it's culmination. ==Kitten's Cap-gun== The diminutive gun is a lady's garter pistol for my lady-wife, for occasions where she alights without a proper chaperone. It was previously a Nerf Jolt. I suspect this is closer to completion than it's predecessors, this requires merely a bit of trim and trinketry for my lady's pleasure and mayhaps a sight to ensure a clean shot. -- Asides from the units these two pieces were built upon, I used Tamiya enamel paint and the woodwork is based on a pre-cut 'wooden puzzle' dog that I cut down to be more fitting to my need and then varnished with mahogany varnish. These, obviously, are no match on the mass of peoples submissions preceding it, but I'm looking to learn and have definitely learnt from my experiences in building these thus far. Comments/Criticism hugely welcome and encouraged Thanks --Alex

I still need to order one myself and find some sort of holster too.

Picked this up awhile back and really like it. Plastic ivory handle and cast from cheap metal, but all the parts work. Unfortunately I have no experience with modding guns (real or imaginary). Any suggestions on how to steam it up?

Good day chaps, I'm looking to paint my first gun this weekend, a Nerf Maverick, I see a few others have painted this particular model with great success and was wondering which paint I should use and where i could get it ( In Australia) . I hear that Krylon is good, unfortunately from what I can gather it is not sold in Australia, if anyone could shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated.

H.West-that's a beautiful gun you got there! If I had it I might, just might, add some brass colored paint to metal parts, although I think it looks just fine as is in the color dept. Probably the most I would do is add a Sight that corresponds with the design and patina of the rest of the piece.

I have a gun very similar to that one; here's what I was thinking of doing with it-
Place a "battery pack" slung under the barrel where the ramrod is, with wires connecting to the hammer and a row of electrodes running the length of the barrel on either side. Place a large crystal of some sort in the end of the barrel and your new Electrothanasia Pistol is ready.
@NoileiFernberd: I don't know what other brands they carry down under, but if you can throw a few names this way, I may be able to tell you if they're any good. Rustoleum and Duplicolor are both good if you can find them.

Excellent ideas! I was actually considerign adding a sight as well with some bits of piping. The battery pack is a good idea as well.
