@OswaldBastable: Appreciate the compliment...and in this case the "M" is not a shortening of the Scottish "Mac" or Irish "Mc"...it's the middle initial M, in this case Meriwether.

My latest Nerf conversion - more pics to follow on my website in the next few days together with the leather 'gunslinger' holster that goes with it. Orders happily taken.

Ah - I love it when that happens, you are rummaging through a box at a flea market and a part just about leaps into your hand and yells out "look at me - I am a perfect ..."

Hello all. I thought I would post (my first time trying to post images so please forgive me if it comes out wrong) some images of a Blunderbuss i made for ms Cordelia Forward. Cordelia was having some trouble with some tenacious White Cabbage butterflies..... The advertising Brochure goes something like this....

The All new "Shock Wave" by Squidd Industries! Of course you will find the increased capacity of the primary ignition chamber coupled with the addition of an all new secondary pulsation generator, and the completely redesigned semi archimedian ejection port, backed by high quality hand made componentry, superfast "Click in- Click out" recharging, interfaced with the "Lock-on" Lepidoptera seek and destroy location system, will give your Brassicas superior protection from even the most tenacious Cabbage White time after time after time..

@Fineas Squidd - Beautiful gun.  So nice to see wood and metal turned in to a work of art.

Nice work Rob - Scratch build is coming along nicely!

Thanks for the tip on the putty otto - i've committed to building an ornamental long-arm to hang over the antique fire stove at my brother's amazing new mud-brick farmhouse - so all extra tricks will be welcome.

Anyone got any tips for a starting point?  I like the idea of a longish blunderbuss and want to work primarily with timber, brass and steel/aluminium.

Perhaps an exaggerated version of this with a few subtle steamy elements?

Anyone ever worked with a bugle for a barrel?

Hello Elvisroe
I used a brass vase for my barrel , I particularly liked the deviant nature of the spherical bits. and you can pick them up for next to nothing at flea markets or online auctions. To make mine, I simply cut the stock from some 6 x 2 timber that was lying in the long grass, with a jigsaw and then shaped it with a sanding disc on an angle grinder.  The Barrel is made from the brass vase with the bottom cut off,  attached to an old brass garden sprayer, which I cut the end off, and used to make the gauge on the side. then simply some copper tube, Co2 cylinders from a pellet gun, some copper pipe saddles and a few bits of decoration. For the recharging cylinder I took a Co2 cylinder, and glued the bottom of a household lightbulb to it, then set a household light socket into the side of the stock to take the modified cylinder. Works a treat..  Fineas

Sweet! - Very nice job!!  I particularly like the use of the 'scissor' for the trigger - gives it a very Tranter look (my favourite victorian gunsmith).  If you are yet to patent that scissor-trigger on this side of the Tasman I may just have to 'borrow' it  Wink

And MCC, I love the scroll work below the scope on your nerf mod - nice touch!

On another matter - my long suffering and heavily pregnant wife just imposed a 'no guns in the bedroom' policy ahead of our impending arrival.

This was what she found tucked in various draws and cupboards and under the bed...

Fortunately she didn't open the box in my cupboard and discover the 30 unpolished rubber band guns  Wink

The new additions to my real collection:

M95 Steyr-Mannlicher and a Smith and Wesson hammerless.  (More dieselpunk, but with a lovely leather shoulder rig)

(Was pretty much ordered by an officer of the law to purchase the revolver following an incident the other night.  Tomorrow or the next day I need to run up to the capital to apply for concealed carry...grrrr...as much as I like studying and collecting, I'm not a big fan of actually using.)

There have been times in my life I wished I had a gun.... and there were times in my life I did..... I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it..... makes life much more agreeable......I've had a Concealed carry permit for years ...... go get it it's your right.

Nice work, Mr. Cordory, I must get back to some leatherwork myself!

While I'm here, just a reminder that discussion of actual modern firearms (made after 1914) is against forum rules.

Fineas Squidd, now that's a beautiful piece!

Nice lines and gorgeous stock(that's pretty close to the shape I have decided on for mine,it'll be just a little wider to account for a power supply Wink) Grin

Thank you for the kind words Mr. Oakes and Drew.. If you wish I can e-mail the pattern I made for the stock. I made a pattern for me, but reduced the size a little as the gun was for Ms Cordelia. so can send both sizes.  Cheers

Gentlemen, and Ladies,

I'm not computer savy enough to upload photos, but have some (I hope you'll agree) fun pieces I've built from found objects. Rayguns and things you've never imagined before. Imagine Tesla meets Bell, meets Faraday, meets Warehouse 13.  Comments are welcomed.  See them at: www.coreywolfe.com.

Just finished a new nerf mod for the shop, so thought I'd share it.
It'll be appearing in some promotional shots/video soon too, but not sure when yet.
