Could it be the amount of installed plugins? Talking about the redundant teleport mod here.

The "redundant teleport mod" is actually part of Essentials. Essentials has a lot of features, warp teleport and /creative to name a few. Essentials is, as it suggests, Essential. I've cut back the mods to the minimum I think we want. It's a tradeoff between features, and stability.
Current list of mods:
- Wormhole Xtreme
- Essentials
- Permissions
- Worldedit
- Group Manager
- Backup
- PTweaks (lowers lag)
- EnderCrystalizer
- Simple Experience

Backup isn't going, neither are permissions or group manager. Simple XP adds a single command with nothing else associated with it, Essentials adds far too much functionality to really be removed, PTweaks lowers lag at a slight CPU cost, and wormhole xtreme only takes up memory when a gate is active. Worldedit is the only plugin that is causing problems, and that is only because people are doing too much with it in one go. Removing plugins isn't going to change that.

Right, what with 1.2 coming out shortly (I'm talking about bukkit compatibility; for the server 1.2 might as well not be out yet) I'm having ideas.

What I'd like is twofold, and I'm looking for opinions. Firstly; the spawn area to be a floating island with a castle on it, a wall of instructions and a bitchin' view over the world.

Secondly; (this is stolen from Corsair) perhaps attempting a "show". Rather than a tour or a LP try something with a real script, plot etc.

What do people think?

Manix and I are doing a driftwood survival challenge (like skyblock but in the ocean and with less available resources) and we fxcked up. We ruined the only lava we had so decided to take a leaf out of 2 girls 1 minecraft's book. We let ourselves spawn another bucket of lava in exchange for doing a 'lava challenge'. What this means is we need someone to build us a challenge on the BG server that revolves around the materials lava and obsidian (we had to cheat to remove an obsidian block as well) which we will record ourselves completing so we can continue with the survival challenge.
The 2 girls 1 minecraft grass challenge is here to give you an example:

Skyblock Penalty Video #1 - The Grass Block

so it should feature things like jumping puzzles and the like (perhaps a part where we have to find switches to control pistons that block lava)
Anyone want to build that for us? Pleeeeeease?

Oh and your ideas sound cool. Dunno how I feel about you stealing my idea though . TBH if we go with that I'd rather it were a bunch of dedicated players (actors and camera persons) on a separate server.

The temple is accessed through the rail networks at the "Garden of Harmony" Assassin HQ, if lost warp to PeaGreen and take the minecart tunnels, so far there's only 2 options, will there be more? Who knows? It all depends on how much Manix and Pixie screw up on their survival island.

Not using it. Two issues are "Non interaction with entities upon login" and "strange chunk generation artefacts". I'm waiting for a recommended build, not a beta build and certainly nto a developmental build (after last times "random world corruption").

A wise decision. While many plugins may work, I suspect many will need to be fully updated since there have been many changes to Bukkit lately. They won't fully update until the 1.2 Bukkit RB is out. Hopefully for both your and my servers, the plugin developers won't give up now they know that the main Bukkit guys are joining Mojang.
