A while ago I posted my rocket pack on this thread ( http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,29912.450.html), however as it was a rather rushed build done in about a fortnight with fairly simple tools I never felt it was truly finished. However as I'm not overly experienced with paintwork I was wondering if any of you fine people knew any good techniques I could use for weathering the boosters (which are plastic by the way) and possibly other various parts (preferably that don't involve an airbrush). Thanks.

Hurray, a loverly brass bound themometer will shortly be on its way to myself and then will be attaching itself as pride of place on my Pack. Now back to eBay to see if I also won that industrial style pressure gauge

My boyfriend made this for me and he's not even really into steampunk and barely knew what it was before he started researching for this:

First thing your going to have to do is make up your mind.... and I'm sure no matter which you pick, will be willing to give it a shot. Cool Rocket pack by the way!!

They are all most outstanding sir. I especially like the scene of the workers trying out the hover boards at lunch time. Are there any others you have done? I would like to read more of your work

If people would like to see rocketpack racing or similar then I would need to see a clear proposal of what people would want to run and evidence that there will be three or more entrants. Feel free to post suggestions here (the Wacky Racers of Lincoln Thread) for discussion and I'll draft up the rules for the class based upon these discussions. http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,29475.50.htmlFor any that may be interested. My pack will definitly be taking part (even if I have to have a proxy due to other duties).

The race track would be the 'banjo' in the Castle, a straight coupled with a roundabout up the neck, loop the loop of the roundabout and back down the neck to the finish line. I would like to see the Scrap Heap Challenge style time trials, rather than a free for all. The one rule should be the entirety of the Rocket Pack should pass the finish line, even if it means the pilot has to run back to pick up something which has dropped off For the more fragile packs a balance has to be met between the vigor of the 'run up' and the time penalty of going back to pick up a crucial part. There is a chance of an outside broadcast system this year, so pilots could be accompanied by a track of their choice. Flight of the Valkyries, Dambusters, Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines, Theme to Stop the Pigeon etc

For the balance for the more delicate or dangle-ie covered would an addition prize for 'style/hamming it up' be considered? eg: the one who holds the most impressive 'flight pose' for the entire of the race. If everyone is running slower because they are doing that it would mean less chance of things falling off. The winner could be judged by those taking part and you can't vote for yourself....or am I just over thinking thing?

All entrants could parade round the roundabout striking heroic posts, and the crowd can award a "Peoples Choice" award by making noise for their choice.
A bit of crowd participation never goes amiss and the shameless hams amongst the Rocket Pack will love this.
