Here is one of our creations for Waltz-12. Its a rocketpack for a 10 year old girl, so weight was a important factor.
Before,

And after.

Aside from a race at the Asylum, what about a formation display? You could attach smoke cannisters to your ankles. Grin

You know I would love to - but sadly I cannot.

Bit of a trip for me.  Unfortunately, my pack doesn't have that kind of range.

So - do the fermenting beans in the two tins power the rockets?

That's the basic principle, though this particular example runs off a high-energy cacao-based compund  Wink

I will be there, but my pack may be worn by a proxy as I will be stewarding and don't have a timetable of potential free time yet (an I'm not expecting one till way WAY closer to the time cos everyone has more important things to do....like finish building the Pack inthe 1st place Tongue)

We have the Foot and Mouth parade on the Sunday morning, for Help For Heroes and we did last year invite other miltary organizations, so perhaps a 'fly past' by the Rocket Pack Collective might be in order?

This would of course mean a quick change for Private Widdle.

If you organise it all Peter, we could have a fly past by The Red Harrows!

No?..Oh please yerselves..

Knowing Widdle, he'd put it on upside-down and put the wind up the ladies, and his kilt!

I can just see the misty english moors early morning, folk gathering in small groups flying their racing club flags from their workshop tents, the sounds of small whooshes and explosions in the background, several folk striding around in the latest in racing rocket packs as they show off their contraptions to the gathering crowds prior to the race, a dirigible in the distance flying the race half way point flag...

All that's missing is Terry Thomas!

Well that's rectified that!

Love the concept.

You could tie red, white and blue streamers to the rocket packs to simulate the aerobatic discplays that use coloured smoke.

I now have all of the parts, and my rocket pack is third on my "to do" list, (Right after the weather machine.) So I plan to have it together in time for the Asylum.

I realllllly want to make a rocket pack! I keep looking at all these things at work and thinking "I could use that for it..." - ok, I'm looking at scrapped stuff and bin fodder, not stock, I like my job! But I work in hydraulics, we have a hose and tube shop and they make the odd mistake...

Now all I need are a few spare hours. No time to work on the time machine dammit!

Excellent choice of water bottle for the tank, you could run leather straps around the indents to hold it in place.
