Excellent - I can see numbers 11 and 12 going soon, they will need to wait until I return from Kenya on the 16th August though.

I have most of the parts now gathered, now to finalize the straps and figure out the details. Thus far the basis is a 1919 rootbeer pony keg, the base of a thrift store brass lamp for the primary nozzle, and a pair of wall candle sconces for the yaw thrusters. Magnificent!

So nice to see all of the activity. Can't wait to see some "completed" pictures, but is nice to see the works in progress. Should be a very good racing season indeed!

I've slowly started collecting bits for a rocket pack. I'm envisioning something along rocket assisted leaps rather than true flight. Perhaps I can get enough together soon to join these prestigious ranks.

I'd like to throw this into the ring: I started building it when Maduncle first proposed the Pack (and heavily ripped off his design, sorry about that) but only finished it yesterday due to spiralling buget and lack of impetus (I was eventually bullied into finishing it by my girlfriend so I can wear it to the MCM Expo). I wanted it to look something like the engines on turn-of-the-century motorcycles, like the one below. It works by mixing the red and blue chemicals (though I want to replace the blue with luminous green) and directing the resultant explosion through the trumpet. You steer by leaning, and stop by running out of chemicals or hitting something very hard.

Well done sir, I am pleased to see another pack with similar design principles to my own. Please PM me with your postal address and I will send you out the next racing number, once I return home from Dadaab.

Thanks everyone. and stop by running out of chemicals or hitting something very hard. I think that aspect needs a bit of work! I have ordered a large red valve to put somewhere in the piping for a shut-off. Hopefully it will be large and red enough to be effective (thats how these things work right?)

No 10 finally had its number stuck on and mounted onto a scuba backpack, ready for an inaugral flight at Kew Bridge Steam Museum Mad Science weekend. Changed my BG account to my alter ego's name (formerly Steampunk Sid)

Wonderful rocket pack video - did you see all the guns on the wall?
Is he a member here?
the cat was my favorite bit, though.
And - forgive me, but... how does one SEE the gauges when they're behind one? perhaps they're duplicated on the wrist device and I just didn't catch it?
I hate my mind works like that.
and_solo_said - fab work and love the bike!
Logan - looks so official with the number on!
