Details of our Rivets on the River boat trip are finally coming together.

It's like herding cats. Cats that float. And you know how much cats like water...

The tides are at the most awkward times possible. This means that our trip is now scheduled for Saturday, not Sunday. We're planning a trip of around an hour in duration, leaving at half four and back around half five, so as to still leave time to change and brush one's dress uniform for the Ball.

We'll be heading up the river, with the tide, about as far as the bend above Lancaut. It's a beautiful spot on the river, and difficult to get to except by boat. We'll pass by the towering cliffs of Wintour's Leap, where a brave Royalist invented the sport of Horseback Base Jumping.

If you're unfamiliar with the River Wye, like the River Severn then it has one of the world's highest tides, except that it's also in a narrow wooded valley. If we time it right, we'll even see the river flow in two directions in turn as it first washes us up and then down with the tide.

Places are limited, depending on the size of the boats available. Tickets will be available on the day, or by pre-booking. More details as we know them!

Rivets on the River Boat Trip!

http://wyewaltz.org/wiki/index.php/Rivets_on_the_River

so, it's organised and we just need passengers. If you definatley want a place then please say on the stickied Wye waltz thread as tickets really are limited

Tickets are £9 (we are actually subsidising the trip a bit to reduce the cost to you)

If we are over subscribed, then tickets will be given on 1st come 1st served basis (sorry)
