Here are details of the Swansea group GROUP NAME: Swansea Steampunk Association LOCATION or AREA: Swansea/West Wales DETAILS OF GROUP: To provide a social and musical meeting point for steampunks. MEETINGS: The Association has run Coppernaught a monthly Steampunk music hall on the last Wednesday of the month since October 2010. It is currently held at Mozart's, Uplands, Swansea SA1 4QA. It is a unique free evening of harmonious entertainment provided by our musical Impresario, Mr Gwilym Games and a varied collection of finely dressed individuals in assorted steampunk/Neo-Victorian garb. Tea, etiquette, beer and bawdiness with a Neo-Victorian sense of style ! It is a friendly night where steampunks can meet, talk and listen to various steampunk tunes. We also usually provide a free selection of tea! WEBSITE: (If applicable) The group is organised via facebook. You can find listings here of events here, photos and old musical programmes. https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=146974365330938&ref=tsCONTACT DETAILS: Contact organisers Peter Crow or Gwilym Games via Facebook. Correct me if I am wrong but I think we are perhaps the only regular Steampunk music night in the UK at the moment?

I don't think there are many of us north of the border.
Well there are some 60 signed up in GUeSS and I am aware of a scattering north of the Forth plus whoever used to turn up at the Edinburgh gigs. When is GUeSS running its next event during the day? Not one of ours but a lot of GUeSS folk will be there: Britannia Bazaar at the Britannia Panopticon on 4th June noon to 5pm: https://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=221396744554645

Reverend Panic, thanks for your reply.
I've had a go at creating one for UK steampunk music groups, and will run it by the people discussing on that thread. (Not really sure what I'm doing, so hope it works!)

righty ho, a little late to the party but i know of 2 groups I'm sure won't mind being registered. For the time being here's the obvious one: GROUP NAME: Yorkshire Steampunk Coal-ition LOCATION or AREA: The People's Republic of Yorkshire (although a fair few of us are based in Leeds and York and Harrogate) DETAILS OF GROUP: A loose association of Yorkshire-based steampunks for the discussion of things of interest, local or otherwise. MEETINGS: Irregular but delightful WEBSITE: (If applicable) http://www.facebook.com/groups/yorkshiresteampunkcoalition/CONTACT DETAILS:yorkshiresteampunkcoalition@groups.facebook.com

Hello good sir, we are a bit thin on the ground here in Norwich to say the least. I dont know of any official Steampunk groups around here. As yet there is only myself, Captain Saberhagan and your good self that use the Brass Goggles Forum from the Norwich area. I do however keep putting the shout out. I think we should hold our own mini flash mob meeting (very mini !) what do you think?
(shouts into a megaphone) "Hello is there anyone near us?"

You've also got the Southend Steampunk Society (c/o Facebook) Claire. I suppose, since this was my idea, I had best get this ball rolling. NAME: League of Essextraordinary Gentlemen. LOCATION: In and around the County of Essex. DETAILS: To provide a resource for Steampunks living in and around the county of Essex (Not enough Steampunks in Colchester, and East Anglia proved to be too big.) (From Website.) The aims of the group are as follows. 1. To enjoy the benefits of amiable companionship in attractive locations. 2. To hold regular social meetings for members within the County. 3. To organize events for the benefit of the general steampunk community. 4. To increase public awareness of Steampunk. 5. To foster an affiliation with any existing steampunk groups in the country. 6. To provide opportunities for car sharing for members travelling to events, in order to reduce travel costs, and create a resource for members without access to transportation. MEETINGS: The group does not hold regular meetings as such. Instead, The intention is to organise regular gatherings within the County, but also to make them open to the wider steampunk community. I shall get together with the chaps and the ladies and sort out something for Preston, for there are a number of us, enough to - we think - support at least one event this month, for which tickets are, I hear from my man, selling satisfyingly.

Preston is within our travelling range (if we take lodgings over night at an Inn)..... will keep an eye open for future events. (thats not the royal WE although it is "my husband and I")
