Popped into the fish shop I use in Central London on the off-chance for some plants they didn't have in stock, and overheard the assistant trying to explain Fishless Cycling to two different customers.

I admit to some curiosity myself, now, as I have never done any form of cycling involving fish. How do you keep them out of the chain, and what good are such legless critters on a bike anyhow?

Cycling with a fish is cruel and unnecessary. For obvious reasons, they tend to get stuck in the chain and, have difficulty with the brakes. http://www.fishkeeping.co.uk/articles_51/fishless-cycling-article.htm"](In all seriousness its a technique to prepare a tank for fish)[/url]
Thanks for the link. That's actually kind of cool. I don't keep fish, but it's interesting to learn new things!

Can you not get specially adapted pikes for them?

I was pretty happy yesterday when I discovered I can fairly easy make a Civil War bummer cap the Cheap 'n' Dirty way! Yay for cheating! The prototype was a partial success (lining up striped fabric is a nightmare!) Tomorrow I'll be working on a new version in plain fabric. I'll take some pictures and do a quick writeup if it works out OK. Total project budget: Sub-$1.  Grin

I believe they have evolved beyond mere cycling.  Has no-one other than me encountered a motorpike and sidecarp?

I'll get me coat.

You can't train pike, they're way too aggressive. Seriously, have you ever seen the teeth on those things?

They'd chew the tires off.

I have several types of drunk. Sometimes, I'll be a really angry drunk. Sometimes I'll be a really silly drunk. Last night, I was apparently a really bored drunk, so I wrote a lot of stuff for Sober me. I wrote on scraps of paper and apparently just tossed them all around my newly cleaned room. Here is some of the stuff I've found.

"Don't ever take 'no' for an answer. You can fight for what you want, and you deserve everything that's worth fighting for."

"You're amazing even if it didn't work out. You're worth more than they would have given you."

"You deserve the best because you are the best. Never settle for less."

... I should have a drunk career writing cards or something. Some of this isn't too bad. Makes me feel good, anyway. Smiley

My dad is out of town and gave me keys to his place so I can print stuff out for work while he's away, because I don't have a printer.

He stocked up the fridge with my favorite drink before leaving. Thanks, dad.  Cool

Yeah, for Uni, and it's still Nottingham! It's in Trinity Square, and two streets away from the Rescue Rooms. Dad needs to hurry up and pay my deposit before I lose it though!

I ordered a couple of small DVD racks from Walmart yesterday. Took the cheapest shipping option, estimated delivery was between March third to March ninth.

I just got an email that the item has shipped and is estimated for delivery tomorrow. Shocked

Almost a full week earlier than expected and a Fed-ex delivery on a weekend? No complaints here, that's for sure.

Went to see where my family are moving when I move out for Uni. I have no complaints, they'll be very safe, they know the neighbours and Baby Sister loves her room already.

It's a weight off my mind that they'll be fine without me.  Grin

My kitteh falling asleep in my lap, resting his little head on my leg and snoring. It made me so happy, I cried! I also saw him drink milk for the first time, he dipped his paw in, then licked it!

I noticed you enjoyed the steam engines today,
I hope everyone had a great time.
Next time I hope not to be one of the drivers so I can dress a bit smarter!
I presume that you went to our local the Express Tavern, great beer in there and a good old fashioned pub!

Indeed, I heartily approve of The Express and I suspect on the 4th of June they shall get a goodly share of my spending money for the day.  Equally the food at the museum was lovely, an all day breakfast and a cream tea, each with a mug of tea included in the price.

Also a big thank you for the behing the scenes glimpse at the uber boiler... 16 tons of water is still making my mind boggle. That's around 95,500 cups of tea  Shocked
