He Who Lives By The Sword...

[Professor Griffiths]

"You, in the uniform, what year is it by your recollection!"

[Dr. Madd]

"You don't know that its' 1942, and we are in the middle of a war with the Axis."

[Augustus Longeye]

"Longeye paused, Sir, it's 1910. We aren't at war with anybody, the Empire is expanding, and the country is running smoothly. I don't think you belong in this time period."

[Professor Griffiths]

"My word, its 1890 by recollection. I dare say we are all a little lost. Who even knows if this is the same time period I woke up in or went to sleep in!"

He looked at his papers and maps and showed them a newspaper he bought several days ago.

"See, 1890."

[Dr. Madd]

"1910? What sort of business is this? "

"We're still figuring that one ourselves. " Madd said, as he lay on his stomach on the Pyramid floor, using a pair of tongs to apprehend several scorpions.

"Dear God! "The Officer said, " If what you say is true, The Gerry's have been turned loose in 1890/1910, whatever year it is, with the weapons of 1942!"

[Augustus Longeye]

"I don't think that there will be much problem with that. If you took care of those ones, I can't imagine many more will be appearing..."

[Dr. Madd]

Madd was examing a scorpion with a magnifying glass..

"Perhaps we should loot their corpses for supplies. We might need them."

[Professor Griffiths]

"You can loot corpses, but that is a horrendous piece of business. As for the rest of you, How do we figure what year we really are in? My Airship was to return tomorrow but if we are in a different time, it will not be arriving."

[Dr. Madd]

"There's no shame in looting the dead.. That's how the boys in Grey got henry repeaters during the war." Madd replied, as he placed the scorpions in a collection jar.

[Augustus Longeye]

Longeye gathered the group together and whispered to them; "What do we do about that group? We can't leave them here... who knows what would happen if people from the future started messing around now... I'm not even sure they're from OUR future, I haven't seen a single mage and any English force would have a half dozen at the front."

[Professor Griffiths]

"And the boys in Grey did so out of desperation because they were not winning. And as for them, your right we can't leave them here, but a for a suggestion...I have none."

Balthazar was in deep concentration. He was focusing on all this information and quickly pulled out his research journal and began to write down what he had been told.

"Which of you is the leader of your expedition?"

[The Corsair]

He had no idea what to do. In his old life, you looked out for your team and everyone else had to fend for themselves. One of the other men seemed to have an idea though.

[Dr. Madd]

"And the boys in Grey did so out of desperation because they were not winning. And as for them, your right we can't leave them here, but a for a suggestion...I have none."

Balthazar was in deep concentration. He was focusing on all this information and quickly pulled out his research journal and began to write down what he had been told.

The Boys in grey did it because your generals were damn fools and led them to their deaths and SOMEBODY needed to use those guns.. Over 100,000 dead yankees leave a lot of guns behind... Besides, We needed them because the carbetbagging bastards blockaded our ports and wouldn't allow a fair fight."


Madd's mutton chops fluffed indignantly.  Madd saw a piece of canvas from the wreckage and paused in mid-rant to walk over absently..."Hmmmm"

[Jack Raptor]

Jack had been lost, deep in thought. "Wait.... The Yanks? I haven't seen those gentlemen in a while. And what's all this about a war? Last I remember I was fighting to expand the Empire, not defend it."




(sorry it's been a while since I posted. College caught up with me)

[Augustus Longeye]

"Indeed sir, there hasn't been and serious rebellion for a while... a few minor scuffles but nothing worth of a full force. But we need to decide what to do about the British force. We can't just leave them to wander this time, their weapons alone could upset the power of the Empire."

[Dr. Madd]

Madd smiled, "Why couldn't we borrow some of these futuristic contraptions and use them to aid the confederate government in exile and the British empire? These could really give us an advantage when we get back."

As he spoke, he was wiring an empty german haversack with a piece of canvas, into a parachute.. Into the sack, he dumped the scorpions he had collected.

[Professor Griffiths]

"The Confederates have been soundly beaten. The Union, after the war, rounded up all the Rebels and arrested the ones they could. Your war is over sir, done and gone."

He walked over to a seat behind his table and sat.

"We can not let these men from the future wander about, that is for sure. Lets confiscate their weapons and then decide on what to do. And what about those Germans?"

[Augustus Longeye]

"As far as I can see they're all dead..." Longeye said; "It shouldn't be too hard to collect any weaponry... but what do we do with it? Destroy it? Hide it? And how do we get the weapons from the British?"

[Professor Griffiths]

He sighed heavily.

"We have to kill them....."

[Augustus Longeye]

There was a pause. "Can we do that. Not morally, but physically. How many are left after the skirmish?"

[Dr. Madd]

"For now, Yank... The South WILL rise again. The Mere loss of a war cannot stomp out the fact that North and South are not the same people. That house was divided in the beginning."


The British Commander spoke up." You do realize of course that I am right here, right? Somehow, I don't think you lot are up to fighting us. But if you wish to kill yourselves uselessly.." He drew his Webley Revolver and a Colt 1911 from his other holster, "I'm game.. You fire on me and my lads will be in here instantly, and they've got sten guns and .303 rifles. I suggest you take a tone more befitting of gentlemen."

"I'd have to agree. These fellows did us no harm and they might be helpful." Madd chimed in, " I won't be firing on them.. It just wouldn't be right.. Besides, they sort of saved our lives."

[Augustus Longeye]

"Sir, it would do you well not to sneak up on us." Longeye said, drawing and levelling the blade of his staff at the commander's neck. "If you call or fire a shot I will kill you, and you can guarantee I will not be hurt. You are guests in our time, you sill behave as such." He turned to the group. "We've run out of time, what do we do?"

[Dr. Madd]

" I suggest an alliance of sorts, " The Commander replied, "Less trying to kill each other and more trying to figure out what is going on here."

[Professor Griffiths]

"Then we have but one other option. They must go with us. And before you say anything, I will be going with you gentleman, this is an opportunity of a lifetime."

Balthazar began packing his things into his leather satchel. He added his sword to his belt and his black cowboy hat.

"If we are indeed in 1890 still, my airship will be here by morning to take us to Cairo."

[Augustus Longeye]

"This is acceptable, but Sir [to the commander] you and all of your troops will leave ALL" he emphasised this "weapons that do not belong here, and we will bury them. You are not going to change the time line, for better or worse it isn't your choice to make. The weapons will be left and you can bring any swords or bladed weapons."
