Madd, however was perched at the very top of a Pyramid..
"Hmm..." He said, painfully climbing down one block at a time..
" I wonder where my ants wound up."

"In some exotic Egyptian dish I hope..." he responded, even though it was clearly a rhetorical question. It was exceedingly hot and he hoped Madd would have the sense to come with them and find shade rather than force them to all stand out here in the blistering heat while he searched for his silly army of insects.

"At any rate, They won't find much to eat in this blasted sandbox.." Madd said, detecting Ethan's annoyance, " Come! If there's a pyramid, a town or Oasis can't be too far away!"
And with that, he shouldered his blowgun, and held Hannibal on his shoulder, whistling "Dixie" as he walked along with the group.

Yarrow dug himself out of the sand dune that he had somehow become buried in. He stood up, sand cascading from his robes like the water that had previously covered the dune sea around them would have done. His first words upon seeing the arid vista before him was "Oh, Vulcan's coprolites! Not bloody again. How many times must this happen? He checked his belt, feeling the still-intact Transportive Firebolt flask, the last one he had. Better save that, he thought, never know when we'll need it.
HE rejoined the others, and said, "well, shall we leg it, or find some shade and wait for the cool of night? We might want to figure out what supplies we have before we try to go too far. I wonder if the ships around us are scavengable? Oh, bugger it..." Yarrow's body again ran like melting wax, re-forming itself into a stocky, dark-complected shape, rather like one of the desert tribesmen that one would expect to find in such a place as te one in which they found themselves...wherever this place was...

Panting and wheezing, exhausted from the heat, Jack carried on his pace, trying to put as much distance between him and desert raiders as possible. His training had put him at an advantage at first, but the raiders were used to these conditions while he wasn't.
Jack climbed over what felt like another dune in the endless amount of dunes and sand and slid down the other side, lying there for a minute, attempting to catch his breath. He stood up again, repeating still in his hands. He'd never let the gun go. His belief in it was that strong that despite the desperate conditions.
Climbing over another dune, Jack saw the pyramid. He shook his head, trying to clear it. The pyramid was still there. Eyes wide in disbelief, he staggered towards it, stumbling in the sand. Hearing far off voices, he yelled. "Hey!" and waved his repeater in the air. Jack carried on pounding towards the voices, starting to see the heat-miraged outline of people. Jack yelled again. "Over here!" He carried on, licking his dry, cracked lips in desperation.

A shout broke Longeye from his stupor an he looked round to see a man running down a dune towards them, waving his arms around. "You there! What's wrong?" he shouted to the man, who was getting closer quite quickly.

Jack slowed to a stop in front of one of the man and bent over, hand on knee, coughing and panting heavily from his exhaustion. "Sir *wheeze* I'm Gunner Jack Estfield *cough* of Her Majesty's *pant* Army and I was *another wheeze* if you lot knew the way out of this damned desert. I got separated from my unit and I need to get back to the rally point."
Jack licked his lips again. "Say... Do any of you have any water? I've been clambering over dunes all day and I haven't a drop to drink"

"I'm afraid I don't... we weren't planing on being here, but if we search the wreckage of the ships we should find something." and sayign that he almost immediately spotted a barrel of water.

Jack nodded, panting slightly through dehydration rather then exhaustion. "Alright then, sir. Mind I ask as to who you fellows are and how you wound up here?" As he says this, Jack starts to rummage through the wreckage of the ships.

"Well don't look at me..." Longeye said, taking a swig of the water himself. "I've never done anything like that... thought by the looks of it, whatever threw those rocks travelled the same way..." He said, indicating the wreckage around them, and the still almost intact pier.

Jack climbs down from the wreckage and takes a grateful swig from the barrel of water. "Oooh, nectar of the gods after the desert." Jack proceeds to quench his thirst and settles down, taking off his breastplate and helmet. He wipes his forehead with a handkerchief and lets out a phew of thought. "So.... How did all this get here?"

"I'd guess that seeing as you've been on the run for more than a day, you don't know the news from London. There have been things appearing all over the city and destroying great chunks of buildings, streets... whatever they appear in. We were investigating a fellow at a warehouse when we were attacked, and shortly afterwards we were pulled into... somewhere..." He stopped and looked distracted for a moment before continuing, though more hesitantly than before. "We ended up here, the pier, chunk of the sea and ll the ships came with us. A few crashed into the pyramids but must just landed here and there, as you can see..."

Jack chuckles slightly and smiles. "I've not been on the run. I get separated from the rest of my unit. And no, news from London is scarce. And when it does come through, it's always about how fronts are doing, not casual chit-chat." He frowns. "Buildings are beginning destroyed? Streets too? With what? Magic?"

The new fellow seemed like a skilled soldier. He guessed they were in something reasonably deep and having men who could handle themselves was necessary. Ethan was confident in his ability to fight and survive, and as much as he hated Madd he was a fighter. Longeye and Greco seemed capable, undoubtedly they could be better but in a group they'd be alright. Yarrow was interesting. he was a mage, which would imply that he had oceans of power at his disposal but beside the engagement they had literally just been in, Yarrow seemed to get by through sheer force of being a mage. He had a mage's reputation of power behind him and out here in what seemed to be Egypt the reputation of mages' might not hold such sway... He'd see, he figured.

Madd filled his canteen with the water, and fashioned himself, with his sewing kit a portable parasol from some of the balloon canvas and pieces of wreckage. With that over his head, he used a little of the water to wash the dried blood off his mouth.
"Say." He said, " Do you see any bodies around? We might need provisions before we reach a town or place to hunt."

It might be an idea to hold of on cannibalism for the time being, there are several fully stocked airships here that will have many supplies, and probably have packs, weaponry, equipment... hells, if you can find the store for the 'Moth..." Longeye looked around. "My crew seem to have been too far back to be caught in this... it's a shame, some of them would be useful here."

Jack glanced around the wreckage, taking another sip of water with his cup. "So... You gents just.... Appeared here? That's a feat, I'll give ye that. "Hmm..." He kept scanning the wreckage. "Any chance of a wireless? Might be able to pick someone or something up"

"One of teh ships might have an aetheric hailing device aboard." Yarow said. I have a semblance of one, here." He pulled from a large pocket in his vest what appeared at first glance to be a cigar box which, upon being opened, was found to be stuffed with an assemblage of tiny wooden boxes, tiny ceramic jars, and glass phials, connected by and enmeshed in wires and metal grilles, all in a medium-sized cigar box.
"I made this last year, for communicating with the Home Guard military; Cousin Hugo helped build the valves and figured out the transmission circuitry." He pressed a stud on the inner left side of the box, and the device slowly warmed up, tiny homemade valves lighting up and a tiny sound-propagating elctrodiaphragm beginning to emit a hiss of static. suddenly, a voice spoke from the device, faint, scratchy with static and the whine of poor reception. 'Course, it's just as buggy and stubborn as the military sets..."
Yarrow fiddled with the myriad tiny dials and toggle switches (there seemed no end of them both inside and outside of the box), and unscrewed a wire holder here and there and reconnected the loosened wires in other patterns, and eventually, the voice became understandable and clearer.
"Mayday, Mayday, this is HMAS Iron Duke, calling all Fleet Survivors, Mayday, Mayday..."
Yarrow picked movede to press a stud that was located outside of teh box on the righthand side, but first asked, "Shall we respond?"
