On Sunday, February 13th, 2011 -- on the very eve of St. Valentine's Day -- a curious event will take place. A Neo-Vaudevillian Riot of Cabaret Calamity and Dark Theatrical Musical Mayhem!

"A Series of Unfortunate Recitals" makes its way to Nashville, promising a show unlike anything you've seen in recent years. Fellow Vaudevillians, fans of Cabaret, Time-Traveling Steampunks, Oddballs, Sideshow Freaks, Gypsy Circus Musicians, and those with a taste for Twisted Theatre should all be in attendance for this one. And you as well! Bring your friends...

Marvel at live performances by:

JOE BLACK:

All the way from merry old England! The neo-vaudevillian, the real life Disney villain, the gin-addled courtesan, the anti-christ of cabaret and the one and only waltzing cynic. Eccentric to international stages, Joe Black takes to shows in an almost cartoon-esque theatrical assault, sweeping the audiences through an array of show tunes, ballads, and a rather varied but fine selection of morally questionable entertainment.

HELLBLINKI:

Sometimes known as The Hellblinki Sextet, and no strangers to Nashville's stages, Hellblinki belt out broken tooth blues in a Tux, choral fantasies for agnostic angels, and peg-leg waltzes on the rim of Mt. Vesuvius. Psycho-cabaret, southern fried with guerrilla operatics. Hellblinki is prone to surprise, tension, and dramatic release. Dark and experimental, Hellblinki mixes elements of American folk, European cabaret, and Punk Rock experimentation into an intoxicating brew of transcendent madness...

THIS WAY TO THE EGRESS:

This Way to the Egress is a Cabaret Concoction of sideshow antics, burlesque, cabaret, comedy and an eclectic mass of music full of stomping accordions, melodic strings, and gypsy swinging madness! Although a three piece at its core, they are a rotating cast of musicians and performers in a reminiscent display of the good old age of Vaudeville.

And, your host, DJ ICHABOD:

You know him from +SALVATION+ Gothic/Industrial Night, "Out ov the Coffin" Radio, and perhaps for other things that shall remain untyped... *cough*. At any rate, he'll be on-the-decks when the bands aren't playing to spin an odd selection of curious tunes from the corners of a strange musical map. You can dance if you want to...
