It's quite surprising to see how many people have changed their nationality - lots of newly English characters!
Well, I assumed we were taking off from England. I just wanted to make it simpler. I mean she is a girl runaway.

Haha, I suppose England did rather dominate the Victorian landscape! One of the most intersting things about role playing for me is the characters people create, and how different (or similar) they are to their real selves. I love finding out why people chose the particular nuances of personality and origin that they did.

I must admit that I chose a background that fitted around my actual knowledge (of chemistry and biology) so that if needed I could draw on that... ~Longeye~

Likewise for primitive (woodwright) carpentry, etc. in my own case. Ironmongery, too, though it's been a while (over thirty years) since Metal Shop... Luckily I know a few period blacksmiths...

I only include metalworking for my character's fluff (the necessity for the skill in his recent past)

My character is pretty much entirely me. Appearance, character, clothing, age... It's nice to be able to take photos illustrating RP events, which is a lot easier when your character is you. Also, you can react to events and conversations in much more accurate ways.

I myself am an actor so I enjoy adopting the character and working out how they'd react to things etc.

Hehe, indeed. I am no actual actor, but I enjoy making a variety of characters different from me and each other.
But all characters have, somewhere, a grain of their creator in them...

I'm just wondering here but, what sort of ship are we on exactly? Because I think some of us are on a different ship? Is it like the Titanic? Like a little greasy tub? A spanish galleon? As far as the description of the ship goes, it might as well be a Chinese junk!

Steamship similar to the SS Great Britain or Great Western but, due to the alternate history , it is much larger (maybe 3/4 titanic size)
Sorry I should've made that clear to everyone.

No. There's a note about that somewhere in either this or the sign up thread. Long-haul airship travel isn't reliable or mainstream in this universe at this point. I noticed that post of yours describing an airship launching Sorry everyone for the confusion. Also, take note everyone, soon there will be a time jump to a few days before arrival time so unintroduced characters will need to introduce themselves soon.

What kind of social class is this ship though? I noticed after I'd posted my "larger suite" entry that the food in the mess hall was barely edible? Also, it would be nice if you could name it for aesthetic value.

A rough idea of this is what I imagined, though more cogs and steam, probably bigger too.

In lee of Mr. Voltaire's note (Also hope everything is okay) I seem to be posting in the worst times... MY peak time (where I am obviously) is between 8-12pm, but (again from here) because of everybody's location the main bulk of posting happens between 3-6ish am... So if I do fall a bit behind it's simply because staying up that late every night isn't good for the sleep pattern ~Longeye~

I noticed that post of yours describing an airship launching Sorry everyone for the confusion. I got the impression of a zeppelin from someone else's post. Well, maybe I badly misunderstood. ohh well, I'll change that when I go back and find it, at any rate. I thought I read just now that the ship was on the order of the Great Britain or some such. Am I hallucinating again?

Yes. Imagine a considerably larger SS Great Britain with plenty of steam.
The mistakes aren't really a problem, the ship ride is really for character introductions.
