bunged a pin in as a vague approximation of where my piece of wet string gets it's signal from. And I saw a possible SP judging by the goggles in the Bentalls centre this afternoon M

Could someone enlighten me as to how to place a marker upon the aforementioned atlas? All I can seem to do is zoom in, drag it around and click on other peoples markers. Supposedly I can click on the map to insert my own, but doing so is singularly ineffectual.

I noticed there are 500 pins in the map and I wondered if it meant it was at the max? I tried to add myself but like others, was unable to!

As deduced earlier, we do appear to have a lack of insertion in the sharps department. Might I also suggest an increase in the number of allowed insertions, is at all possible?
However, its is still good to see from the map that one's not toiling single handed in the field of cronatic reconstruction in one's immediate vicinity, that being the Protectorate of St.Irchley, South Birmingham. Here's hoping to make your acquaintance in the near (or inadvertently altered) future.

I too, can't seem to place a marker with either chrome or safari. I would really like to add my location because I am new to the city of Edinburgh (Well, the UK in general) and I would really like to meet up with others interested SP in the area.

Which part of Edinburgh? I'm based in Leith.

Hey, Wirecase is close to where I live. As a matter a fact, I'm helping building his town's firehouse.

I too am having difficulties adding myself. Using Firefox. It says to just click on the map to add myself, but single left clicks do nothing, right clicks do nothing, and double-clicks (left) just do the regular zooming in thing.
Drat! I was hoping there might be another SPer somewhere closer to me than five hours. I'm in 100 Mile House, BC, Canada, and as soon as I can figure out how to get a pin in I will do so! Glad to see it's not just me being inept, at least, haha!

Sadly, it would appear that there is a fixed limit of 500 markers on free maps. (go to http://www.mapservices.org/blog/ and scroll down to the entry for Feb 22nd, 2007 if you're interested.) Although there is still a 'Support Us' button, I can see nothing to show that MyGuestmap is still an actively supported service. Perhaps Flynn knows more about it (I think that she's the owner), but she hasn't been active on BG since September. It looks as if The BG Map is effectively fossilised.

Oh great, we've got a fossil for the collection! Maybe there's another map service out there, that's more convenient to use and maintain. With so many Steampunks in one place, we don't need a separate marker for every single one, maybe we find a map that can be edited more easily.

Yep. Tried to add myself at my current winter location at La Manzanilla, Jalisco, Mexico. No go. (The town map of La Manz. is woefully inaccurate, by the way). I'm represented by two markers at Kelowna, B.C., Canada, only one of which is actually me, but apparently there's no way to remove a marker. Or is there?
Unfortunately, no-one else within hundreds of miles, from both locations. Ploughing a lonely furrow, me. Sigh......

I'm possibly kind of close to you, relatively speaking? I'm up in 100 Mile House (and also feeling very lonely). The local gaming shop is thinking about running a SP game (making it two locals I've run into who have even heard of Steampunk *eyeroll*), but I'd just really like to find someone to dress up with and go and have a cup of tea somewhere and chat about projects and things upon occasion. Perhaps we can meet in the middle in Kamloops at some point!
