We erm less enlightened Yanks had during the Victorian era what was known as the "Bureau of Indian Affairs" that was under the auspice of the "United States Department of the Interior".

Not nearly as catchy as some of the names you gents have tossed about.

oh, and given the routes they take, I'd propose Cross-country rail be renamed the London Midland and Scottish Railway (company)
