I recently saw this sporran for sale in a booth at the Austin Celtic Festival.

It has a working clock mechanism on the front.

Last weekend at Witchfest there was a trader who usually sells  leather pouches/bags/sporrans etc and he had a selection of quality leather  bags..but, like that sporran, had simply attached various cogs and gears to the outside.

The color scheme is nice, and I really like the switch, but the clock bolted to the front has me shaking my head.  The rest of the sporran is really interesting, and all of the elements other than the clock are nicely integrated.  Maybe he finished it, and thought it was too subtle?

In defense of the craftsman, it still does what it's supposed to do, at least.

Considering where a sporran is usually worn, wouldn't that make it difficult to read the clock?

I guess that depends on who's doing the reading... Wink
