perhaps I approached this a bit too seriously, but... well here are nine I came up with off the top of my head.
Thou shalt not diminish any who embrace the ways of steampunk, no matter how small the manner of that embrasure.
Thou shalt not cash in on the trend of steampunk while neglecting the spirit of steampunk.
Thou shalt not sully the name of steampunk or use the term in vain.
Thou shalt not cast aside the old and broken.
Thou shalt not claim what thou dost not own; be it object, idea or accolades.
Remember the past from which the influences are drawn, and keep their memory alive.
Honour those that came before, the sacrifices they made and the discoveries they left to all.
Thou shalt favor quality in craft, as well as manor.
Thou shalt seek to learn and discover.
