The two rings are UK sizes M & S

Ironically the larger one is too small for me!

We are unlikely to make an even larger size for a while - the master making costs and quantities are a little prohibitive but that is why we get the cost down to such an affordable level.

I am delighted that people are so happy with them.

A batch were handed over to the delightful Ms Wilhemena Frame and she will be organising the distribution in the US presently.

Further batches are ready for despatch to Canada and Australia and should be there within two weeks.

UK mail order should be available from Tinker's Emporium at a similar time.

Excellent news on the antipodean despatch.

We have a special steampunk department in our store and we will be featuring a display of the rings, along with assorted steampunk props.

I will post pictures of our store display here once the rings are in.

Any chance of you escorting a batch back next year? Asylum 2012 needs more antipodeans, although of course we have to keep them away from the podeans to avoid a massive explosion.

Grrr. Just a fraction the wrong size! 'Twill slip off my ring finger, and it's a fraction too small to get off my middle. Sad I guess I will continue to wait.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ive had the same problem, so I bought a big one that only just slips over my knuckle yet is far too large for the bit it is supposed to go around.
I made a tube out of some stretchy faux leather wear underneath it and pad out the finger, allowing it to stay in place. It looks quite effective. Unfortunately none of my photo hosting accounts or even facebook seem to be working properly for me today, so I can't provide pictures.  Sad

Hello all! Yes, the brass goggles rings made it safely to the US with me this afternoon. It will take me a few to get the mechanisms in place but I will post here when I do. I already made one sale to an asylum attendee on my train back to London who had not managed to get a ring! And the extra one I bought for one of my local cohorts as a thank you for housesitting and airport duties brought forth a lovely squee.

A lovely product!

I think I should find a way to attend next year...

You'd be more than welcome, maduncle! Bring some of your creations and your good lady!

If nothing else, it'd save us the postage on another batch of rings!

I'm beginning to think that these rings are imbued with some kind of etheric or possibly magical 'fluence. Mine has been getting universal good reactions even from non-steam types.

I do not have especially large hands, medium glove fitting, but the large size ring only fitted my little finger. But it fitted it well.
I do not usually wear rings, and I thought I would take mine off once I depunked after the weekend. But I am still wearing my new brass goggles ring, and will continue to do so.
I am considering putting some clear, cold set enamel into the eyes, but I can't decide on a colour.

I was also contemplating that, either black or green for me. Perhaps some metallic dust underneath for interesting texture?

I wonder if we can be told, was it intentional that these rings could be customised as such, or accidental?

I am not a great wearer of rings but had to have one of these so I think it is likely to be mostly worn as a woggle.

All I can say is, I bought one, I love it  and wearing it to work reminds me that life isn't just a daily drudge! A little reminder of the fun side of my life and good times at the weekend!

Cold set enamel? Awesome! I was gonna use nail varnish, oddly, as if you don't like it after, it's easy to change! And nail varnish comes 50 million colours and shade!

I was thinking of getting some humbrol modelling enamel to paint some of the outside with. Smiley
I'm pretty sure its the same stuff as nail varnish, only without some softening chemicals.

I was thinking that a light or electric blue would look good. which is a pain because I don't have any cold enamel that colour.

or perhaps with the current fad for 3D, one eye red and the other blue.

for extra shinyness you could lay foil leaf under the enamel.
If you have clear enamel you could try adding a colourant to it. What you use depends on wether it is oild or water based. Maybe have a look at what inks or dyes you have?

UPDATE! Just used nail varnish for lenses. Did it in stages, to get it strong, and it's worked really really well!
