Granted this is primarily a western site with a large number of, well, engilsh speaking members, it still saddens me to how we rarely meet any Asian steampunks here on brass goggles. And steampunk, to my knowledge, is big in Japan. We’ve all heard of the Journey To The Center Of The Earth thing in Tokyo http://voyagesextraordinaires.blogspot.com/2010/03/tokyo-disneyseas-journey-to-center-of.html, and I could pull out a couple more things, but there really is no need, (plus it’s been covered before). And Japan’s just a small aspect of Asia; Asia’s huge!
Ok, so before I get overloaded with responses (or not), saying how there’s the language difference, the point making is steampunk is a global thing, and it’d be nice to see steampunk from a different perspective.

I am a member of a handful of steampunk boards in other languages.  They are full of people who love the scene but don't speak or read/write English.   If you want to interact with Japanese steampunks you had best start studying Japanese.

There's much more out there.
