Someone was mentioning this in a previous thread, and I agree. Herbal Tea should have a better, steamier 'nickname". Any ideas?

I was also thinking of "[insert whoever made the tea's steampunky name here]'s Mad Elixir"

Or maybe some name or word involving herbs and alchemy?

So you could be drinking an elixir of spagyric compounds rather than plain 'ol herbal tea?

Indeed. It would at least have a slightly more interesting name... and interesting result in some situations.

The Department of Pedantry has sent me as an envoy to say:

Since most herbal 'teas' have no tea in them anyhow, they are more properly labeled a tisane.

Which you must admit already sounds quite a bit more technical then plain old herbal tea. Wink

How about ...

"Dr. T's Magical Birdnest Botanical Elixir" crafted from the finest curiosities gathered in the gardens of the Birdnest.

Actually - its a mix of Bee Balm, Lemon Balm, Orange Mint, Chocolate Mint, dried raspberries and violets.

quite a useful elixir to soothe the savaged stomach.

Aren't herbal teas called 'Infusions'? I think that's a suitably Victorian sounding name.

Got to agree with the Department of Pedantry. Tisane sounds just right. "Botanical Tisane" - sounds mysterious and interesting, even though it lacks alliteration. Definitely makes me think less of hippies in wintry climates than "herbal tea" does.

Oh, you are beautiful! No really, you are, you're gorgeous! Space-age clockwork, I love it, I've got chills! Listen, I mean this from the heart - and by the way, count those - it would be a crime, it would be an act of vandalism to disassemble you.

But that won't stop me.
