When the British Steampunk Community Facebook page was formed, the intention was to create a calender of steampunk events using the "Events" function. Then facebook, in their wisdom, did away with the events list.
The British Steampunk Community facebook page has become a victim of its own success. with dozens of posts every day, new events get swept away and lost very quickly.

I have created a facebook group committed solely to the listing of steampunk events.

The British Steampunk Events Page

The rules of the group would be as follows.

1. Only one post per event, the post must if possible contain a link to either a facebook event page or a website for the event and a short description of the event.

2. All discussion of events must be in the form of comments attached to the post, not separate posts.

3. There must be no posts that do not relate directly to the promotion of an event or gathering.

In theory, active events will remain at the top of the page, while once an event has passed, it will sink to the bottom.
It is not as good a the chronological list that the facebook events page used to offer, but it will provide a place where all the upcoming events can be found in one place, without getting buried in other discussions.

This 'Book of Faces" sounds rather disturbing, if they can disable your functions at a whim, without a by your leave. Is it something out of H.P. Lovecraft?

Much better to stick with good ol' BG.

Mr Harrow, I know how you feel about facebook, I for one Intend to continue listing events on Brass Goggles, and I hope that everyone else will too.
However a lot of people use the faceless book so I hope that this will provide a resource for them.
